Thread: Your Opinion Please - Mexico's Responsibilities

We need to show what Americans really think in regard to the Illegal Immigration issue! Hopefully, this may serve to assist our ALIPAC leaders in strengthening and presenting our cause by gathering opinions that are comprehensive to a specific topic. I encourage ALIPAC Members to post such requests for opinions in order to accumulate as many responses as possible or at least to share their viewpoints in regard to the question posed. Thank you.

The Question for this posting:

WHAT SHOULD MEXICO DO TO TAKE MORE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ITS CITIZENS AND TO STOP THE ILLEGAL MIGRATION PROBLEM?

Most Illegal Migants from Mexico and neighboring Central American countries come to the United States seeking work because they cannot find jobs nor live a decent life in their own country. Most of them live in abject poverty while they are in Mexico and their government does nothing to develop the resources that would be necessary to help them be more productive or to live more secure and prosperous lives. Former Mexican President Fox once stated that the United States should develop jobs for his citizens both in the U.S. and in Mexico! The current President Calderon seems to go right along with this attitude! Why can't Mexico take more responsibility to create jobs and develop businesses without relying on the United States? Instead, Mexico fails to develop its own economic development plan... except, of course, continuing its plan to drain the financial resources of the U.S. Taxpayer.

What do you think about this and what could Mexico do to stop the current trend in order to better the lives of its own citizens, so that they would not have to come to the United States illegally to find work that they cannot get in their own country?

Well, of course, Mexico needs to clean up its act.

This supposes, however, that they would like/could be made to do something about the illegals. They like it!! They encourage it!!! Personally, I think they force it for their criminals and maybe their sick.

They get all manner of money back from the US, they get to funnel their drugs through our border that makes it easy for them, they get relieved of criminals and we are educating their population.

Why in the world would they want to do something to stop that?

These are very good questions, why doesn't Mexico stand up for it's own people in Mexico? They seem to have no problem doing it tfor those who are here illegally!

Wake up Central America, time to get off of your butts and start fixing the internal problems you have in your countries, OR America (USA) will start cutting of the gravey train in funding to you!

Help your own people, god knows they need it!

What they have in Mexico is a greedy and corrupt oligarchy, at the top, a lot of uneducated or half-educated peasants at the bottom, and very little in between. Those Mexicans who tell us they are willing to fight us for our country, should in fact, be fighting to reform their own! Mexico is in fact, not a poor country; it is quite a wealthy nation, rich in resources, and not lacking the capital to develop a better standard of living for the majority of Mexican citizens. Mexico has the means to further develop its own economy, without any assistance from America; what the Mexican government lacks is the will to do so; and yet, they tell the Mexican people that it is not their fault but America's fault. That is a lie, and the Mexican government knows it!

Mexico is THE top exporter of oil in N. and S. America. They are 9th in the world in terms of oil exports. They get nearly a hundred million dollars of free foreign aid from the US (and have been for the last 20 years). Their GDP is at the top of all latin american countries (but not on a per-capita basis). They have no one but themselves and their government to blame.

If anyone wants cites for any of this info I can get 'em too.

What is the incentive for the rich of Mexico to clean up their act?

They are getting to stay top of the heap, while exporting their problems to America.

They sent their poor, then poor and families, then the criminals and sick - now they are sending the educated middle class - all to take our jobs. They get rid of the ones who cost them money and get all that money sent back that can ultimately end up in the pocket the the wealthy.

People - that's our money. I don't just mean American government - I mean mine and your money. The money we spend with the people who employ them. We, not the illegals, are providing the money that is sent back.

They do stand up for "their" people. They do it when a mejican national, gets caught breaking the laws here, and they quick to rush in claiming their citizen was given a chance to contact their government, or he was gioven due process. Notice how many mejican counsalar offices there are in the U.S. compared to our offices in mejico?? They out number us by almost 4 to 1.

WELL FIRST THE MEXICAN GOVERNMENT HAS TO WANT ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION TO USA TO STOP. I DONT THINK THEY WANT IT TO STOP.

THEY HAVE TO UPGRADE THEIR INFRASTRUCTURE SO THERE ARE DECENT LIVING CONDITIONS. IF THEY DONT ALREADY HAVE A MINIMUM WAGE....THEY NEED ONE. THIS IS TO ENSURE THAT GREEDY EMPLOYERS ACTUALLY PAY FOR WORK DONE. THEY HAVE TO HAVE DECENT PAY AND DECENT WORKING CONDITIONS.

NEXT, THEY NEED TO HAVE ENOUGH JOBS FOR PEOPLE. JOBS WHERE YOU CAN ACTUALLY SUPPORT YOURSELF. YOU WILL NOTICE THAT MEXICANS SAY THEY CAN MAKE MORE MONEY HERE IN US. THEY DONT SAY THEY DONT HAVE ANY JOB THERE...BUT THAT IT DOES NOT PAY ENOUGH. SO MAKE LAWS TO HAVE A MINIMUM PAY LEVEL.

ALL THOSE "JEFFES" ARE JUST LINING THEIR POCKETS....THEY CAN AFFORD TO PAY DECENT WAGES.

MEXICO SHOULD NOT ALLOW IMPORTED VEGGIES....SO THEN MEXICANS COULD FARM FOR MEXICO. IF CHINA OR USA CORPORATIONS DONT LIKE THAT....THEN THE MEXICAN PREZ SHOULD TELL THEM TO MIND THEIR OWN BUSINESS.

NEXT, MAYBE MEXICO WOULD LIKE TO FURNISH SOME SMALL BUSINESS LOANS OR GRANTS. SOME PEOPLE COULD START THEIR OWN LITTLE STORES OR ROOFING COMPANIES OR WHATEVER.

THIS WOULD LEAVE MORE JOBS FOR EVERYONE ELSE. AND DONT TELL ME MEXICO DOES NOT HAVE MONEY FOR THIS. THEY HAVE PLENTY. IN FACT THEY SHOULD GIVE GRANTS TO PEOPLE WHO START BUSINESSES THAT PROVIDE BASIC NEEDS TO THE COMMUNITY. LIKE FOOD STORES, OR FARMS. THE REST COULD BE LOANS. OR HALF LOAN, HALF GRANT.

BUT THESE LITTLE BUSINESSES....IF THEY HAVE EMPLOYEES.....MUST PAY DECENT WAGES TO THE EMPLOYEESS. EMPLOYEES SHOULD NOT HAVE TO SUBSIDIZE THE STARTING OF A BUSINESS THROUGH LOSS OF WAGES. THE EMPLOYEE WONT REAP THE BENEFIT AND SHOULD NOT HAVE TO SUBSIDIZE THE UPSTART. UNLESS OF COURSE THE OWNER WANTS TO GIVE THEM PART OWNERSHIP IN THE BUSINESS....THAT WOULD BE DIFFERENT.

OH .....AND KILL THE DRUG CARTELS. JUST CRACK DOWN ON THEM REALLY HARD IN MOST AREAS. THIS WILL PUSH THEM INTO A FEW SELECT AREAS....BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT ALWAYS HAPPENS. THEN MAKE SURE ALL THE REGULAR PEOPLE ARE OUT OF THERE....BOMB THE WHOLE PLACE.
