STill not buying poultry??? I hope.

I do think we can make a difference. Whether we can change the law or not - will remain to be seen.

Whether the law passes or not, I think we should continue to boycott - first one and then the other large industry - actually, boycott a much as you can. But if we try too much at one time - it will be inconvenient and uncomfortable and some will give up too quickly.

I want you to know, this is really hard! I went to the grocery store today and they had a stuffed chicken breast marked down, really cheap --- I picked it up and then remembered it was a no no . . . I pick up my aunts lunch everyday at Cracker Barrell, she hasn't been eating meat too good lately, so I told her I am going to start getting her a 'vegetable plate.'' She doesn't know she's boycotting!

I read previous posts but forget the length. Is this supposed to be a month long April boycott of poultry? I can do since I've been a vegetarian for many years. The kids are tricky though and will just have to eat extra soy if this is a month-long event. Please let me know. I wish you were all boycotting pork products at the same time. This industry also hires illegal aliens.

I usually buy my groceries for a month at a time. I did that yesterday. I didn't buy any chicken but replaced it with more beef and fish on my menu. I can't continue to boycott chicken forever but I won't buy certain brands, either.

YEs, it is going to be a little tough for some of us - but I think it will be worth it.

And yes, it is supposed to be a month long -

The idea of boycotting an entire industry at a time is to really get their attention. WE can then move on to another industry - and the next can be pork.

Yes, many illegals work in the pork and beef industry - especially the meat processing plants.

I hope we can get something done.

Actually, it might have been better to start with pork - it was just my very selfish idea to start with poultry. Actually, it is the one industry I am familiar with and have seen the problems brought about by the employment of illegals into our community.

Yes, meat processing plants that make sausage, hotdogs, etc should be a target.

And even though I don't drink beer, those beverage companies would be a double whammy to boycott . Not only do illegals work there, the gov't takes extra tax on beer.

Pork is no sacrifice for me! I'm a Jew. I boycott pork at all times!

But let me know what you all decide for next month. W will let us use the same sticky space to promote it.

LOL DcSA, one of my sisters hates chicken. So when I sent her the message about the poultry boycott, she wrote back "No problem." I guess she doesn't mind sacrificing on her husband's behalf. LOL

I'm not sure who is working on all those pig farms. Any comments there from North Carolinians? I only know that illegal aliens make sausage these days because the President snickered over that being one of the jobs "Americans just won't do." Of course, that is a crock, my brother got up at 4 AM go go make Jesse Jones products for a lot of years and I can assure you he was an American.
