I sent this to Senator Reid this morning instead of my usual "Kill Bill" message.

Dear Senator Reid:

Over and over again, I’ve heard you talk about the lives of our soldiers being lost in Iraq. In fact, one time I heard you say that it made you sick to your stomach. This morning you talked about 14 soldiers killed in the last 36 hours and that it’s because the Iraqi government is dragging its feet in taking responsibility for their country.

Senator, we all mourn the loss of our soldiers, but we also mourn the loss of our citizens because our government is dragging its feet in enforcing our immigration laws. Funny, I have never heard you mention you felt sick to your stomach over the 25 American citizens’ lives that we lose every day in this country due to the accidents and violent crimes caused by illegal aliens. At least our soldiers have weapons to help protect them from the onslaught of insurgents, but the small children and unsuspecting adults in this country have no form of protection, not even the protection of this government. Instead, the American people are being held hostage, told that we cannot enforce our laws without legalizing every single one of the illegal aliens who are here, even the very criminals who are killing our people.

For every day that you people play politics to satisfy special interest groups, we lose another 25 lives. How can you mourn the death of our soldiers when you insist on leaving their families vulnerable to an enemy here at home?

Senator, do the right thing and kill this immigration bill until our government can show that it can protect our citizens against this enemy right here in America, because tomorrow there will be another 25 innocent lives lost, and that makes me sick to my stomach.
