Citizens Arrest?
After reading this forum for quite some time now it is apparent that folks are exceedingly angry about our IA problem but don't know what to do about it. Murder, burglary, grand theft, document fraud, theft, etc. etc. The list is endless.
At the root of this is a single, simple issue. Has a crime been committed, ie; is one in this country illegally?
How many times have many of us seen someone that we KNOW is here illegally and wanted to do something about it?
Why can't citizens make a Citizens Arrest?
Citizens arrest can supposedly be enacted when a citizen observes an illegal act, be it state or federal. Is this a myth? Is it something that can be practically done? How can we put more power into the hands of ordinary citizens? There has to be something that we can do! Are there any attorneys on this forum that can advise?...I call on you in the name of Liberty, of patriotism & everything dear to the American character, to come to our aid...

Thanks MW. Checked it out. Doesn't sound too promising. Citizens just don't have much of a chance to do anything about these crimes! Call it misdemeanors, juevos rancheros, anthing you want. It still amounts to an illegal invasion and we don't have many tools, other than Alipac, to stop it!

Here is a copy of Texas law
TEXAS CODE OF CRIMINAL PROCEDURE
CHAPTER 14. ARREST WITHOUT WARRANT
Art. 14.01. OFFENSE WITHIN VIEW. (a) A peace officer or any
other person, may, without a warrant, arrest an offender when the
offense is committed in his presence or within his view, if the
offense is one classed as a felony or as an offense against the
public peace.
Art. 18.16. PREVENTING CONSEQUENCES OF THEFT. Any person has
a right to prevent the consequences of theft by seizing any personal
property that has been stolen and bringing it, with the person
suspected of committing the theft, if that person can be taken,
before a magistrate for examination, or delivering the property and
the person suspected of committing the theft to a peace officer for
that purpose. To justify a seizure under this article, there must
be reasonable ground to believe the property is stolen, and the
seizure must be openly made and the proceedings had without delay.Certified Member
