Thread: Should citizens from every country be allowed to come here

After 9/11 I am amazed that the American Government allows people from Arab nations to even come to the U.S surely the only way to prevent the next attack by bin laden is to ban the arabs from even coming to the country

What do these people have in common?

They are Arabs and one is even Moslem. Avoid making blanket generalizations.

englishintern, it seems to me that they do a foolish thing but if the people are allowed here legally, there isn't much we can do about it. The illegals, on the other hand, should be deported. And if our government lost track of any of them on visas and let them stay long enough to become illegals, then that is one more giant shame on our government.

I found it incredible that people from Iraq were in this country voting in Iraqi elections via absentee ballot. I feel that if they loved Iraq so well and they knew it was in distress, they should have been home fighting for it. I sure wouldn't be sitting across the ocean somewhere if my country were at war. As long as I could lift to help my own people, I'd be right there with them.

People from around the world are entering the country illegally at the southern border.

In the first 9 months of 2005, nearly 70,000 were captured and released. Where/who are they, nobody knows.

Interesting Richard. I didn't know that. Paul Anka, Jamie Farr and Danny Thomas sure seemed like Americans to me. Are you saying that they were naturalized citizens? That their people were from Arab countries? They surely weren't illegal aliens.
