Immig reform is destined to be whipping boy of Nov.elections

Wowie zowie...got a real asshat lawyer here:

Guest commentary: Immigration reform is destined to be whipping boy of November elections

It must be election time: the candidates are picking on immigrants. Immigrants are easy targets. They cannot vote, they cannot raise huge sums of money for political-action committees and they make convenient law-and-order targets for those selling “fear.â€

Being illegal in the U.S. is not a crime; it is a civil violation.

Well, Wolfe fails to note that the majority of the foreign squatters in this country are felons, using fraudulent documents.

no way to get leagl but they can go home.Nobody has said anything about immigrants, its ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS.If someone has a cabin in the woods and I go live in it for 2 years and for whatever reason they have waited that long to return and find me in it I have to leave. If I had moved 30 people in it also, they have to leave. They say they intend to deport the 2 million illegals here with felon records ,just do that times 10.

Being illegal in the U.S. is not a crime; it is a civil violation. Penalize as you would any other civil violation: an appropriate fine and the opportunity to end the violation by legalizing.
Yeah, that's correct. But, here's the problem - the only way you can make the argument stick that 'well, they just came across the border and were pursuing ...<whatever>...' is if they:

a). Don't fake official IDs, b). Accept no job and c). Don't misuse a legitimate ID, etc. and all that assumes they have no previous excursion here and subsequent uninvitation (eg. deportation)

But, in fact, many if not most IAs, violate one or more of those above. So, yes, for most IAs, they are technically criminal offenders - in addition to the civil transgression for just walking across the border (1st time only of course).

Thats where He has it all wrong they should first pay a large fine, and then be deported! They certainly should not be allowed to profit by breaking our law.
