California Border Police Initiative
Cleared for Signature Gathering

(SACRAMENTO, CA) The Attorney General of California has issued an official title & summary for the California Border Police Initiative, clearing the way for signature gathering to begin immediately.

"Californians are fed up with open border policies that invite illegal immigration and threaten national security. There is overwhelming public support for this initiative." said Assemblyman Ray Haynes, legislative author and Honorary State Chairman of the California Border Police Initiative.

"We received a fair and straight-forward title and summary from the Attorney General's office, we started printing our petitions today and our signature drive starts immediately," said Dave Gilliard, political strategist for the California Border Police Initiative.

Registered voters who want to circulate or sign the initiative can go to CalBorderPolice.com to order petitions. A minimum of 598,106 valid signatures are required to place the initiative on the ballot. Supporters must file signatures with counties by December 12, 2005.
