A bilingual Web site that provides information on immigrant rights, legislation and resources was launched last week by a group of local organizations.

The San Diego Immigrants and New Americans site, immigrantsandiego.org, is a project of the Immigrant Rights Consortium of San Diego County, a coalition of 26 legal, religious, labor and other groups.

The groups include larger organizations, such as the American Civil Liberties Union of San Diego and Imperial Counties, Catholic Charities and Service Employees International Union Local 1877, along with smaller advocacy groups and organizations that assist the county's Latino, Filipino, Middle Eastern and African communities.

The site, designed by immigration attorney Andrea Guerrero, is supposed to work as an information clearinghouse in a county where many individual organizations assist immigrants but where little coordination between them has occurred, she said.

Were is the site that have my rights when they crash into my car with no license or insurance. Or my rights when I have to wait for hours at the emergency room because they are there for the free medical treatment. Or my rights when my kids education is not what it could be because our schools are overtaxed from the massive numbers of illegal aliens kids. Just wondering who is standing up for my rights? I guess I should just shut my mouth because such thoughts are thought by some to be racist.

"NEW AMERICAN" MOD EDIT ARE ILLEGALLY in THIS COUNTRY, and if sneaking across the border grants citizenship and the title of "new American" we might as well throw the baby out with the bath water.

By crossing that border ILLEGALLY, they are nothing but criminals.

Just another slur against the LEGAL people.

do they have a right to drive drunk and smash into my car permanently injuring me? Well.... THEY (illegal alien twice) DID!

It's funny and untrue how we're told that without the illegals we'd have no food, that they're only doing work that Americans won't do. Hmmmm, last time statistics were revealed it showed that 75pct of those in the fields are here LEGALLY so it is possible without illegals - just another fear mongering lie told by groups that hate freedom and truth like the ACLU.

What amazes me is that listed among all the other bleeding-heart organizations that are supporting this website is THE SERVICE EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION LOCAL 1877!!!

Since when do our unions support illegal aliens????

If you are a member of a union, I suggest that you SHOUT-OUT your disgust over this!!! Contact your union rep today!

DO NOT LET YOUR UNION DOLLARS SUPPORT ILLEGAL ALIENS - - THEY ARE TAKING JOBS AWAY FROM AMERICANS!

5% of the work force is illegal...what happens if they are removed? good ol' supply and demand goes to work and wages go up. That's a good thing. Illegals are even showing up here in Montana and taking jobs from citizens because they work cheaper (with no insurance-workers comp. etc) Unions should be very upset with this. They use union dues to promote and help illegals? Arrrghhh!

I would pay more in taxes if it were to fund programs to rid ourselves of all 11 million illegal immigrants.

There are plenty of programs out there, which we pay for, that can be used by individuals who don't even have to be U.S. citizens.

Did you know that even though you've never worked a day in the U.S., if you're in your late 60s, once you become a U.S. citizen you can start withdrawing from social security?

Did you know you don't have to be a U.S. Citizen to use Section 8.

From personal experience, I couldn't even get subsidized because how can I be worse off than someone, who came here illegally to have their child born a U.S. citizen?

I'm willing to bet if we did remove all 11 million illegal immigrants, crime will go down, immigrants who come here legally will have an easier time, and the quality of life will improve.

And here at home, we should be prosecuting all people and businesses that hire illegal immigrants.
