He’s the youngest president of France since Napoleon so he’s very aware that the spotlight and pressure is on him.


But seems like he’s placing a little too much priority on what he looks like.


Because turns out he has spent £8,000-a-month on makeup since becoming the French president.

A spokesman for the president said: ‘We called in a contractor in as a matter of urgency’.

His aides added that his makeup bill would be significantly reduced


in the future and that his predecessors had also spent a great deal on their personal image.

This comes as Macron’s popularity is declining according to opinion polls.

Only 37% approve of what Macron is doing, down from a high of 57% following his election in May.
