Thread: Mexican Military & Drug Cartels

I just finished listening to the Laura Ingrham show, and she brought up a couple of things I never heard before.
First, according to the MEXICAN govt., 120,000 soldiers have deserted and they have made NO ATTEMPT to locate them. Most seem to think they went to WORK for the Drug Cartels.
Second, a WARNING has been issued to Army personnel and family members at a military base in Arizona not to travel into Mexico because of the kidnapping threat and other violence in border towns. Seems the DRUG CARTELS are fighting over control of these towns so they can traffic thier drugs & other contriband into the United States.
This WARNING also included border towns IN THE UNITED STATES!!!
While listening, she took a call from Loredo, the caller said the Drug Cartels have BOUGHT & PAID for the Police, the City Council and Mayor. From what I heard this morning, seems OUR elected officials are more AFFRAID of the Illegals than they are of the American people. And according to those callers on Lauras show, we are at WAR on our Border, and OUR elected officials are turning a blind eye to it.
I'm at a loss for words... Whats next? Is Bush bought off by the Cartels? McCain? Reid???? WHAT THE HELLS GOING ON?

I heard the same broadcast. In addition to the info posted by PatriotofPast, a TSGT at Warner Robbins AFB in Georgia called in and said he had a friend stationed in San Antonio, Texas. This friend told the TSGT that his unit was on alert because of the violence along the border, and that the drug cartels had placed a $10,000 bounty on U.S. uniformed personnel delivered on either side of the border. Dead.

This was not confirmed by any other source, and it is similar to info I have seen on the WEB in the last few months about bounties placed on Border Guards and National Guard troops assigned to the border. What really bothers me is that we need to talk about this at all. How can anyone in the media, in the government, or in this country take seriously for one minute that we are fighting a "War on Terror" when our citizens on the border have to put up with this crap because our president and the bought-off political animals in Congress want open borders and will not enforce current laws.
