Rights of Americans should be limited to Americans, legal immigrants

Illegal immigration is a disputed topic these days and everyone has a different opinion. Specifically, people are talking about the driver’s licenses for illegal aliens in New York.

Personally, I think it is ridiculous. The right to drive legally on American roads should be reserved for Americans and legal immigrants. Of course, illegal immigrants are people just like us, so we have to treat them fairly and equally, but there are limits. They have suffered hardship in their countries, but they can’t take advantage of ours. They expect to get all of America’s benefits just by walking onto American land. You can’t expect to get rights from a country you got into by breaking its laws.

One thing supporters of giving American rights to illegal immigrants constantly overlook is the name they give to them. Whether they say illegal immigrants or illegal aliens, there is one common word and that is “illegal.â€

I agree with you both. It's pathetic an 8th grader has more common sense than many of our elected representative and legal adults in this country.

I think the 8 yr. hold has no agenda....the elected so called public servants
