Thread: Quick Update From These Parts

I just wanted to let everyone know that the message has been spreading like wildfire out here in OK. I've been successfully engaging friends and family in the fight to ensure that all of our senators and representatives (out here in Okie land) are no-amnesty congressman with calls and e-mails. I guess its time to send some Kyl's way now...

I also wanted to let everyone know that (from where I am standing) this Illegal Immigration crisis seems to be pulling in more and more liberals and/or otherwise anti-Red State folk than any other conservative issue I've ever seen. In the minds of many of the liberals I've been talking to recently this issue transcends the typical pro-life/pro-choice or pro-gun/anti-gun divisions that have classically divided American citizens. Hopefully a new coalition can grow out of this struggle.

At the risk of being redudant, it is so important that we educate our more liberal friends about the facts of our current crisis and the state of our nation. Truth be told, whatever issues have divided us in the past pale in comparison to the potential disaster that is this bill and the continuing neglect of our country's laws.

Because if we don't unite together on this issue than we'll lose our country together and become a balkanized nightmarish shadow of what we used to be.

Well I can tell you my 85 year old Mom who lives in Atlanta, Georgia; a flaming liberal from day 1 called me last night to say she will not vote for any candidate that supports amnesty; regardless of party affiliation. If she has to vote for Newt (whom she hates with a passion), she will to stop amnesty.

That is why the Democrats need to be aware they're in hot water if they push this through as well.

It's a single issue vote as far as I'm concerned because so very many of the problems America is facing are due to our lax immigration policy. Not even a teeny weeny bit of amnesty in any form is acceptable!
