Illegals: Here To Do The Work That Americans Are Unwilling To Do

That, of course, is the oft-repeated mantra of President George W. Bush — the author of Mexico’s feast and the principal countervailing force in America’s long overdue need to secure its land borders and maritime ports.

Well, the Associated Press (AP) reports that illegal aliens have been working in critical security areas of Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. (Do read the AP story in full). That should be reassuring to busy air travelers!

I presume from this story that just as fruits and vegetables are rotting in the fields for lack of “undocumented workersâ€

This is the absoulte truth and is the bottom line. If things are any different from what they were when Ameicans were doing these jobs, it's not becuase Americans changed, its becuase our leaders betrayed us by pandering to big corp and not enforcing our laws. PERIOD.

My husband and I have watched this show a number of times and, yes, these are some down and dirty, often thankless, jobs. The people I've seen doing the work are white and black Americans. There must be some LEGAL and ILLEGAL Hispanics in jobs like this, also, but I've not seen one Hispanic on the show yet.

It's NOT that Americans WON'T do those jobs; it's that Americans CAN'T accept the THIRD-World wages greedy employers pay the illegals they exploit for CHEAP labor. Because Third-World wages simply are INSUFFICIENT to pay the RENTS and BILLS of a FIRST-World nation like OURS!

The real reasons they are not doing those jobs, is because they are already taken by illegals. They will work harder, for less wages and they will not complain because they are afraid of losing their jobs or threat of being deported.

I was talking to a woman this morning that just lost a job working at McDonalds because she complained about the Hispanics not following sanitary practices. She was also told that she needed to learn to speak Spanish because this is America. She said she then applied for another job and was told she was over qualified.

I can see it now middle class losing their jobs to outsourcing, willing to do anything to support their families and being told they are over qualified. Then we are told we need immigrants to do the jobs Americans won't do.

I bet if Americans that work the same jobs the illegals work, got the same "tax breaks" and healthcare, and low automobile insurance rates ---they would be happy to work for the same take home pay.

I AM SO SICK AND TIRED OF THAT SAME OLD LINE. IT IS SUCH A LIE. Americans have always worked harder than any other culture in the world. And that is why America became such a great nation.
