VA Congressman to Vet: Sit Down of Leave

The frustration shared among federal employees and beneficiaries who would be affected by a government shutdown boiled over at a town hall meeting held by Democratic Virginia Congressman Jim Moran. The meeting was held at Frances Hammond Middle School in Alexandria.

One 27-year military veteran engaged the Congressman in a back and forth. The man began his tirade by asking, "Why are you here tonight and not in Congress trying to figure out how to stop this from happening?" The man continued to verbally attack Moran before the Congressman finally yelled back, ordering the man to sit down or leave. Moran said, "Sir, you had an opportunity to speak, now it's time to sit down...sit down please!"

This how we treat the people who put their lives on the line to protect our nation? I'm sure if he was an illegal he would have been allowed to voice his concerns.
