Good Luck, Pinestrawguys!! We can't wait to hear how it went. We're starting to coordinate ALIPAC members going to Rumble at the Ranch. Go to the thread later if you can go.

I'm hoping we get a good turnout, being as it's the weekend and more people have the time off to go.

I won't be able to make the Texas shindig, but I'm sending about 100 postcards in my place.

Legal, wanna buy a COOL Hotmail address?

Who knew there'd be a St. Patrick's Day parade in downtown Atlanta today? Unfortunately the turnout was less than I expected, about 50 people in attendance. Of course the MSM was noticably absent, I guess they were too busy filming little leprechauns a block away. Most folks driving by were honking and waving in support of us, so that was a good thing.

I was honored to speak at this event, and I want to thank William for tolerating me on the phone until 1AM getting it right.

THANK YOU, WILLIAM!!! I got more cheers and applause than DA did.

    Here's what I said...

    Ladies and Gentlemen,

My name is Jeff Hermann. I’m a landscaper from Walton County. You know, doing the jobs that Americans won’t do.

I’d like to thank all of you who’ve come here today to express the will of the great majority of voting citizens here in the great state of Georgia.

I’d like to thank our local media, television and print, for their coverage of this issue, as one-sided as it may be.

I’d like to thank Chip Rogers for his fortitude, perseverance and patience in crafting Senate Bill 529, and our Georgia State Senate for becoming national leaders in REAL Immigration reform.

Finally, I’d like to than DA King, the Dustin Inman Society and Americans for LEGAL Immigration for giving me the courage to stand before you here today.

Senate Bill 529 passed our State Senate 40-13 10 days ago, our states first effort to ‘do the job our Federal Government won’t do’. Over 80% of Georgians want our House of Representatives to do the same. We’re here today to represent the millions of Georgians who remember the words of Ronald Reagan, “A nation without borders is NOT a nation!”

Of course, he’s also the President that signed the LAST amnesty bill, and you can see today where THAT got us.

I could talk for hours about the politics of illegal immigration, about the money involved and who’s really getting it, companies like Mohawk Industries in Dalton, that recruit illegals at the Mexican border to take jobs that Georgians have ALWAYS done. They’re facing a multi-million dollar lawsuit under RICO statutes for their illegal hiring practices.

And they’re not the only ones. Chicken farmers, contractors, and restaurants, all paying illegal aliens, refusing to hire Georgians at more than ‘slave’ wages. All the while, our taxpayers foot the bill for overstuffed hospitals, trailer-park schools and gang-infested prisons. I could talk about the wink and a nod, the back-room deals that have brought as many as 30 MILLION MORE illegal aliens into our country since the LAST amnesty.

Think about THAT for a second, as much as 10% of OUR country’s population is here in VIOLATION of our laws.

About 100 of them were on these very steps 10 days ago, led by radical organizations like MALDEF and the ACLU, waving flags from other countries, demanding ‘rights’ that constitutionally belong only to CITIZENS. They tried to intimidate OUR Senators into capitulating to THEIR demands. Only 13 were willing to side with the lawless mob, refusing to stand up for the rule of law they were SWORN TO UPHOLD.

Thankfully, 40 courageous lawmakers were willing to stand with the over 80% of legal, law-abiding Georgians by supporting this bill. We need to make sure that every voter in Georgia remembers the small group of politicians that voted against 80% of their constituents and opposed SB529.

Opponents of this bill will call you ‘racist’ or ‘bigot’, just as Congressman Luis Gutierrez, another ‘open borders’ advocate, did yesterday to fellow Congressman Tom Tancredo. Anti-American, pro-illegal alien enablers will do that, when they can’t win an argument with logic and/or reason. Mr. Tancredo, advocating the rule of law, expressing the will of HIS constituents, refused to be bowed. We also, must refuse to be bowed, for our fellow citizens are WITH US, and COUNTING on us to make THEIR voices heard!
I can’t say it enough, 4 out of every 5 voters in Georgia want this bill passed, and now!

I urge all of you, CALL your Representatives and TELL THEM you want the law ENFORCED in Georgia. Call your Congressmen, your Senators AND your Governor. If you’ve already called them, call them AGAIN!

Support the rule of law. Support SB529. Support HR4437. Make YOUR voice heard today, tomorrow, and in November. For our children, our state, our country and our future.

    Thank you.

Pinestraw, your speech said just what needed to be said. It's wasn't mean and nasty, just honest. I'm sure you were fantastic!
