BACHMANN - the BEST candidate on illegal immigration

Michele Bachmann is the only candidate who will really deal with illegal immigration! The others are just playing lip service!

Bachmann targets illegal immigration, signs border pledge

Michele Bachmann on Saturday offered her most strident and detailed opposition yet to illegal immigration during a midday visit to a place where the Latino population has surged in recent years.

In a town-hall-style meeting before about 70 people, the Republican presidential candidate held forth for more than an hour, unleashing a flurry of figures that she said demonstrated the welfare demands that illegal immigrants place on American taxpayers.

Citing figures — at times almost verbatim — generated by the Federation for American Immigration Reform advocacy group, she said illegal immigration cost taxpayers a collective $113 billion a year, most of which goes toward the cost of educating undocumented children.

Yeah! it would've been nice if she'd a mentioned all this before her poll ratings hit bottom! When fighting for what's right you have to fight hard and show passion or people won't buy what you're trying to sell!

She was always the toughest one out of the candidates - that's one reason the media doesn't like her.

She needs to be more aggresive and speak out on the 2 most important thngs happening to our nation, invasion here and invading other nations.
Don't tell us the same thing all the others tell us about building a fence, tell us about stopping welfare and deporting them, they are here illeglly and they should be FORCED TO LEAVE .
if any of the candidates are serious they will not mense words and go after the illegal alians and illegal wars with a vengence. So far none have.
We need to stop the lies to our troops about what they are fighting for'its not America. I'm sure as heck no anti war jerk like the others, but I'm anti illegal war .

I like Bachmann, I agree the media has taken every opportunity to attack her because the Elites that own MSM fear her and as for the polls they are a tool used by MSM to manipulate us. I pay no attention to them, time to do our own research and use common sense instead of being led around by Main Stream Media!!!!

The jimmy Carter democrat Bachmann will say whatever it takes to get the vote, same as the rest of them.

In-state tuition for undocumented students part of Bachmann's past, too

In one of the more heated moments of the Republican presidential debate in Orlando, Fla., last week, several of the candidates took turns criticizing Texas Gov. Rick Perry for giving undocumented immigrants college tuition breaks.

"If you say that we should not educate children that have come into our state for no other reason that they've been brought there by no fault of their own, I don't think you have a heart," he said, defending the bill he signed in 2001 that allows undocumented students who've graduated from a Texas high school and who have lived there for three years to pay in-state tuition at the state's public universities.

Rep. Michele Bachmann is among the chorus of critics, and she's using aspects of Perry's immigration record to fundraise.

"Perry was the first governor in America to give in-state tuition benefits to illegal immigrants and said to America that if you disagree... You don't have a heart," Bachmann wrote in a fundraising email over the weekend, according to the Huffington Post. "For too long, Washington has turned a blind eye to immigration and as President I will put an end to that."

It turns out that Bachmann voted for a similar measure in 2005 while serving in the Minnesota Senate. The language, which was included in a larger higher education funding bill, would have allowed students who had attended a Minnesota high school for three years or more, had graduated and had enrolled in public Minnesota college to pay in-state tuition.

During debate of the bill, Bachmann spoke in support of an amendment that would have required such students to be legal residents as well.

"Is citizenship a privilege, or is it a right?" she asked on May 5, 2005, the day the chamber debated the bill. "It seems like the understanding we've always had in this nation is that citizenship is a privilege for those who are not born in this nation... This [bill] is affirmatively having our state make a new decision about citizenship. And really by doing this, we are answering that citizenship is now a right as opposed to a privilege."

She voted for the amendment, which failed.

There are FAR worse than her in the race, and the media focused on her stumbles and ignored the puppets stupid remarks , all of them make stupid remarks, they focused on her because they want her out. If they focused on Romney and all his wishy washy STUPID statements instead of posting he is the front runner to brainwash us of his faux greatness.,HE WOULD HAVE BEEN LONG GONE! Media has been leading us around by the nose for years while the elites laugh, time to get a clue and go for some REAL CHANGE FOR A CHANGE!!!!
