I wrote to the CTCC about my idea and got a perfunctory e-mail in reply, "You can tell them whatever you want to". I was kind of taken aback at the rudeness of the reply. I had made it clear I was suggesting it as a group action but he did not address it as such at all.

Whom do you suggest I take the matter up with? I think if we were ALL to ask the same question "Why should we pay taxes when the Senate thinks to reward businesses that have been evading taxes ffor many years paying their employees under the table" that they would get very nervous that there could be a true TAX REVOLT brewing.

Do you think if I contacted the state groups directly SOMEONE MIGHT LISTEN TO ME?
I think a tax revolt would get them scared the way we want them to be. It doesn't seem to phase them a bit that we are not HAPPY with them and threatening to turn them out of office.

I fear the reason is that they KNOW that real elections are over! If Bush gets his way, he'll grab any chance to take over the government totally, then it will be his CRONYS that stay in power, and wont be a matter of elections.

What do you think? They are soooo unafraid of the people's opinion. They HAVE to know the overwhelming majority don't want this guestworker shyt but they are planning to cram it down our throats anyway.

Sylvia, I LOVE the idea. I'd mentioned it before you came. I think withholding our hard earned money will come closer to getting attention in DC than anything else we've done so far.

If we all let April 15 slide by without sending in our "remittance", what percentage would we be charged for penalty? Anybody know.

If I go to my HR office and change my number of dependents to say 8-10 would I be a law breaker? Hey, but law breakers get rewarded in the US don't they? I'm seriously thinking about doing that, too.

If you owe money, you get crucified with penalties and adding interest. If they owe you money and you don't file, it makes no difference.

I think it's a great idea but I don't know that would could get enough people who weren't too scared to try it and see what happened. If only a few thousand did it, it wouldn't be worth it. If millions did it, that would be a different story.

Well guys, I don't mean to have a TRUE tax revolt yet. I'm only saying for now that we ask the question about the tax evasion of companies paying under the table and why we should have to pay taxes if they don't have to.

Thanks to Thelma for the bump. End of the weeks calling has left me a little frustrated. So much stonewalling about positions. But I intend to keep up the phoning until this topic is brought up for a vote in the Senate.
Even if they wont tell me their positions, they do get to hear MINE!
