Vilsack, 08 Prez candidate says path to citizenship needed

    Vilsack calls for immigration reform
    REGISTER STAFF

Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack, a Democratic candidate for president, today called for reform of the nation’s immigration and enforcement policies.

“The actions at Swift Packing in Marshalltown yesterday reinforce the demand from Americans that the federal government reform the nation’s immigration and enforcement policy,” Vilsack said in a statement.

“A straightforward path to lawful citizenship, reinforced with secure borders, is long overdue.”

Vilsack said state government workers would attempt to help children who may be without parents after the raid at the meatpacking plant.

“I have directed my office to assist in every way possible so that these children, many of whom were born and go to school in Iowa, are properly protected,” Vilsack said.

“We will also continue our outreach to families in the Marshalltown community to ensure they are aware of the resources that state government can provide.”

If they don't pass an amnesty before, anyone running for Prez in '08 on that platform might as well stay home. I'm afraid to think what it will be like in two more years, with or without an amnesty.

You notice how they keep saying it's the "federal govt's responsiblity" and now they are whining because they actually did something? Someplace, in every state, needs to be raided weekly. This would send people the message and the moving out would begin.

    vilsack for President - not

“A straightforward path to lawful citizenship, reinforced with secure borders, is long overdue.”

I'll be writing him a letter and telling not to bother running for President.

    My comments -
I voted for more Democrates in the last election, than I did in the last 20 years. It was a vote against President Bush. I opposed Bush because of the war and his pathway to citizenship, for illegal aliens. His comprehensive plan is garbage and highly detrimental to the average American.

The Dems. I voted for do NOT support amnesty for illegal aliens or a pathway to citizenship.

I support the strong enforcement action taken by ICE, against Swift & Co. I would like to see more enforcement. I want the SSA to report to Homland Security every SSN thats being used more than once. I want the SSA to send out "no match" letters for every incorrect SSN.

If you support a payhway to citizenship for illegal aliens, you do NOT support middle calss Americans. Illegals steal across our border, steal our identities, and steal our jobs.

Illegals are used by corp. America to depress wages. Wages in the meat packing industry have declined by more than 50%, because the companies can hire illegal aliens, at lower & lower wages.

Don't bother running for President, if you support illegal aliens !

    I agree!
Please help save America for our children and grandchildren... they are counting on us. THEY DESERVE the goodness of AMERICA not to be given to those who are stealing our children's future! ... and a congress who works for THEM!

I expressed my views to Governor Vilsack:

    Mr. Vilsack,

Mr. Vilsack, these are your words and you are sadly mistaken!

The American people do not "demand" what you say they do, at least by current polling data. What they want is a sealed border, fines for employers of illegal aliens, laws against renting to illegals, immediate deportation of criminal illegals, a 10 year moratorium on all immigration, stopping illegals ability to wire money home, repeal of the birthright law, and absolutely no citizenship for people who have violated our laws by being here illegally.

We are tired of the crime, of marches in our streets with many illegals carrying the American flag, hospital closures, US workers displaced, the lack of assimilation by many, and our resources depleted. Under current immigration reform plans, such as s2611, 300 million new immigrants would enter the country in 34 years. How can the country provide the resources to these numbers of people?

But, hey, good luck with that presidential campaign, you seem to be right on point.

    Sincerely,

    Vilsack

here's my email to him -

    Mr. Vilsack,

“A straightforward path to lawful citizenship, reinforced with secure borders, is long overdue.”

Illegal aliens steal across the border, steal our identites, and steal our jobs. I suspect they are responsible for millions of cases of ID theft. I know they are responsible for depressing wages.

Americans want to border SECURE, not merely reinforced. Chertoff admits we have control of only 15% of the southerm border.

Secure our borders & ports. Build the fence. No amnesty or pathway to citizenship.

I voted AGAINST many Republicans in the last election because they supported the President's pathway to citizenship. I certainly won't vote for you !

    Letter I sent:

I just wanted to address the following comments you made about the Swift meat packing CO. raids that netted many illegal alien workers:

"The actions at Swift Packing in Marshalltown yesterday reinforce the demand from Americans that the federal government reform the nation’s immigration and enforcement policy,” Vilsack said in a statement.

“A straightforward path to lawful citizenship, reinforced with secure borders, is long overdue.”

This is outrageous. Why don't we legalize theft, rape and murder while your at it since you seem to be an ardent supporter of those who break our laws. So just like the Bush administration your going to spout off the big lie that we need a guest worker program for these illegal workers. Never mind the fact that they broke our immigration laws by entering this country illegally and stole an American citizens identity in order to gain a job that they by federal law aren't entitled to.

You seemed to only have sympathy and concern for the illegal aliens, but not the victims of their law breaking which would be the millions of American citizens who's had their identities stolen and their jobs lost due to their law breaking. Not to mention the thousands of American citizens who have been the victims of rape, murder, DUI's and other gang and drug related crimes committed by the same illegals that if we secured our borders and enforced our laws they wouldn't be here and those crimes would have never occured. So where is your sympathy for them? Your blatant pandering to the illegal aliens in your statements is an outright slap in the face to all the victims of illegal immigration and to those who want our borders secured, our laws enforced and our country defended. In other words it's a slap in the face to all Americans.

We don't need a guest worker amnesty program, we need deportation and imprisonment of greedy, corrupt employers who break our immigration and employment laws by hiring these people. This is what America wants and I'm not talking about corporate America either. As far as I'm concerned you don't speak for any Americans and you sure as heck don't speak for me.

It must be nice to get away with betraying your country and having those greedy, corrupt, law breaking businesses grease your wallet with some serious campaign dollars. I find it hard to believe that you really believe the bull crap your spewing. Running for president huh? Why don't you run for president in Mexico? I'm sure you'd do well for them there. If you think I would vote for a no good spineless traitor like you then you better think again. Once word gets out about your treachery, the only type of president your going to be running for is the president of unemployment. Don't worry I'm sure after your failed bid to become president, I'm sure you'll be well compensated for pushing your globalist agenda by your buddies at the CFR and the WTO. Don't think we Americans aren't on to that sham either.

Oh and there is one more statement I wanted to address:

“I have directed my office to assist in every way possible so that these children, many of whom were born and go to school in Iowa, are properly protected,” Vilsack said.

“We will also continue our outreach to families in the Marshalltown community to ensure they are aware of the resources that state government can provide.”

I wonder how your constituents would feel if they knew you were using their tax dollars to assist the children of illegal aliens. I bet they would be real happy to know that you have their best interest at heart, No!
