DOCTORS, HOSPITALS DEMANDING PATIENTS PAY ENTIRE DEDUCTIBLE UP FRONT - OBAMACARE

DOCTORS, HOSPITALS DEMANDING PATIENTS PAY ENTIRE DEDUCTIBLE UP FRONT THANKS TO OBAMACARE

by BREITBART NEWS 15 Oct 2013 699 POST A COMMENT

The rocky rollout of Obamacare isn’t limited to website problems. According to a report from Bloomberg, many doctors and clinics are now demanding that people pay the entire deductible on their insurance before they will be seen. Obamacare will increase that practice, since a huge number of plans under Obamacare have low premiums with huge deductibles.

The second-cheapest Obamacare plan in California has a $2,000 annual deductible. Hospitals want deductibles paid up front to ensure they receive their cash rather than being stiffed on the back end. Meanwhile, employers are jumping on the high deductible bandwagon, with 34 percent of insured workers having deductibles higher than $1,000.
There are 15.5 million people with high deductible plans, an increase of 12.5 million since 2005. Both doctors and hospitals at New York University Langone Medical Center insist on full payment of deductibles before care, according to administration.

Interest in Obamacare Drops 88 Percent in Two Weeks

by JOHN SEXTON 16 Oct 2013, 9:04 AM PDT 200 POST A COMMENT VIEW DISCUSSION

A new estimate by an independent web analysis firm says public interest in Healthcare.gov is waning.

According to the Washington Post "The number of visitors to the federal government’s HealthCare.gov Web site dropped 88 percent between Oct. 1 and Oct. 13..." The site reportedly drew 9.4 million unique visitors in its first week of operation but in the 2nd week "the site attracted 4.1 million visitors, or less than half of what it garnered its first week."
The Obama administration has repeatedly refused to say how many people have signed up for coverage on the federal exchange. Their sole response to questions about enrollment is to cite the total number of unique visitors to the website and claim this shows "intense demand." But looked at over time it is clear that demand is declining fairly quickly, at about the pace one might expect box office receipts of a new film to drop off week after week.
No doubt some of the drop off is the result of frustration by consumers unwilling to spend hours trying to access their accounts. What remains to be seen is whether those individuals will come back and what message might bring them back.
Published estimates for the amount of time it will take to fix the current problems with the federal exchange range from a couple weeks to several months.

Obamacare Increases Deductibles, Premiums; Forces One Couple To Sell Car To Afford Baby

October 16, 2013 by Personal Liberty News Desk

According to this report from the Michigan-based WZZM, a pregnant couple in the State has been forced to sell their car and disconnect their cable because Obamacare is forcing them to pay an extra healthcare deductible in 2014.

If not for Obamacare, the couple said that their $5,000 deductible would expire next April, after their child is born. The two also said that they have already spent the $5,000 needed to fulfill that deductible.

But under Obamacare, which resets health insurance deductibles in 2014, will force the couple to come up with an additional $5,000 at the beginning of the year to cover the pregnancy.

In addition, the child’s birth will not be 100 percent covered.

Analysis Shows That Fewer Than 1 Percent Of People Attempting To Enroll In Obamacare Were Successful

October 17, 2013 by Sam Rolley

Based on the results of an analysis recently completed by the consulting firm Kantar U.S. Insights, it is no surprise that news reporters throughout the Nation are having such a difficult time locating Americans who have successfully enrolled in Obamacare. The firm reports that fewer than 1 percent of visitors to the Obamacare exchange website actually enrolled during the first week the exchange opened.

In its analysis, Kantar estimates that only 36,000 of about 9.5 million unique visitors to the Obamacare website had completed the enrollment process by Oct. 5.

The firm also notes that traffic to healthcare.gov dropped by 88 percent between Oct. 1 and Oct. 13 as the site began crashing daily.

Kantar drew its data from nonpartisan research firm Millward Brown Digital.

“Healthcare.gov was clearly unprepared to handle the huge spike in traffic on Oct. 1, the start of open enrollment, which the site was visited by 0.9% (or one in 114) of everyone online in the United States,” Millward Brown Digital Managing Director Matt Pace wrote in a blog post.

Of the 9.5 million unique visitors to the Obamacare sites, only 5.7 million navigated to the individual marketplace landing page where they were either directed to continue using the Federal site (3.7 million users) or were redirected to their State-run exchange (1.3 million users).

Of the 3.7 million people trying to sign up for Obamacare on the Federal website, two-thirds were unable to complete the process because of site failures. But for those who were successful with that step, there were more glitches to come.

Consumers who completed the enrollment process next encountered difficulty verifying their email addresses and logging into the accounts they had just created. More than 214,000 people sought help on the “I’m having trouble logging in to my marketplace account” page, which was one of the most popular pages on the site.

Only 27 percent of people who completed the enrollment process on healthcare.gov successfully logged into accounts.
