    1965 - Ted Kennedy Lies

Senate immigration subcommittee chairman Edward Kennedy (D-MA.) reassured his colleagues and the nation with the following:

"First, our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually. Under the proposed bill, the present level of immigration remains substantially the same ... Secondly, the ethnic mix of this country will not be upset ... Contrary to the charges in some quarters, [the bill] will not inundate America with immigrants from any one country or area, or the most populated and deprived nations of Africa and Asia ... In the final analysis, the ethnic pattern of immigration under the proposed measure is not expected to change as sharply as the critics seem to think."

    Sen. Kennedy concluded by saying,

"The bill will not flood our cities with immigrants. It will not upset the ethnic mix of our society. It will not relax the standards of admission. It will not cause American workers to lose their jobs." (U.S. Senate, Subcommittee on Immigration and Naturalization of the Committee on the Judiciary, Washington, D.C., Feb. 10, 1965. pp. 1-3.)

Did he say it, or did he yell it with his fists in the air and his face all red and scrunched up?
I saw it. He did yell.

so we should all send the following question to Kennedy, since it is a matter of public record that the motivation for the busting of those "country-quota" rules were discriminatory because they favored (white) Europeans....

Question: if indeed it was wrong to allow the pre-1965 country-quota rules of immigration, why is it not wrong today to allow de facto discrimination that favors Mexicans?
I emailed it, but never got a response.
I emailed it to Rubencito Navarrette: he denied there is discrimination, but could not reconcile the obvious double-standard.... he stated he is considering a "column" on that question. That was 3 weeks ago.... he apparently has not been fed any "explanation" from LA RAZA ... so he stays in denial..
No soy de los que se dicen 'la raza'... Am not one of those racists of "The Race"

Well, Ol' Ted has a long history of lying, cheating, and other acts of deceit. This is such a habit with him that I'm quite sure he no longer recognizes the truth when confronted with it.

Now , my question is, when will the people of Massachusetts stop inflicting this aging, washed-up boozehound on the rest of us?
