Tancredo blasts Giuliani, Brownback

AMES - Republican presidential hopeful Tom Tancredo criticized two of his GOP rivals on their commitment to combat illegal immigration.

The Colorado congressman was in Ames on Sunday to open a campaign office and seek support for the Aug. 11 straw poll in Ames.

Tancredo said he is running for president because no other candidate has as strong a commitment to illegal immigration as he does.

He said Rudy Giuliani, a former New York City mayor, has tried to make it a ``sanctuary city'' for illegal immigrants.

``He's now happy as a clam with the idea of securing our borders and going after immigration -- it's great,'' Tancredo said. ``It's wonderful. I don't believe a word of it.''

Tancredo said Sam Brownback has blocked immigration reform efforts in 1996.

``He's been an open-border guy for years,'' Tancredo said. '`During a 1996 debate on the issue, he was the primary opponent to most the reform issues. Now he's trying to, quote, modify his approach and say he's always been with us.''

A telephone message to Brownback's campaign was not immediately returned.

Jarrod Agen, a Giuliani campaign spokesman, said Giuliani has long worked to get illegal immigrants removed from the country and called Tancredo's comments ``inaccurate.''

``Mayor Giuliani has made it clear that he is against amnesty and that one of his full commitments is to end illegal immigration in the United States,'' Agen said.

Oh brother! Former mayor of the biggest sanctuary city in the US. Oh please! What does his record reflect? Did he pass one city ordinance to stop the flow of illegal aliens to NY? Heck No! That's all you need to know.

He did nothing about them then and he will do nothing about them if he becomes president.

I hope every Amercian checks each candidate for wishy washy and flip flopping. Every American needs to find out how that person voted while in any political office.
If they voted once for amensty or sanctuary then they are not a good candidate.
We all know that a politican in this age is not to be trusted to flip flop back again.
We need here at Alipac to do such a background check on all of the candidates and make sure that we get that out to everyone on here and on our e-mail lists.

You haven't heard the worst of it, Dixie. America's Mayor graced California with a visit last week. Sacramento and down in Orange County. While in Sacramento he spoke the words a LOT of us here do NOT want to hear....

Giuliani: I'd Govern Like Schwarzenegger

During a campaign swing in California, Rudy Giuliani said that as president he would govern much the same way as another politician the locals are familiar with – Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

This is the man for the job!!! He has been fighting the issue of illegal immigration when the rest of us were not even aware of how big the problem was!

He IS the man for the job! If we lose our country we will lose everything!
He is the ONE true candidate that has fought this issue, on behalf of Americans for YEARS!

Yes he is. But, he is not only the best for his immigration issues. He is very knowlegeable on all fronts. The problem is money. He can't get any money from large Corporations because his honest and wants what is best for his country. So on those attributes alone he is going to have a tough time. We can do it through e-mail and webpages. If he has signs, buttons, car magnets let us know. I will purhcase those and hang them.
