Hungarian bishop says pope is wrong about refugees

The Washington Post doesn not fail to try a sob story liberal NWO twist on this story.

BUDAPEST — Pope Francis’s message Sunday couldn’t have been clearer: With hundreds of thousands of refugees flowing into Europe, Catholics across the continent had a moral duty to help by opening their churches, monasteries and homes as sanctuaries.

On Monday, the church’s spiritual leader for southern Hungary — scene of some of the heaviest migrant flows anywhere in Europe — had a message just as clear: His Holiness is wrong.

“They’re not refugees. This is an invasion,” said Bishop Laszlo Kiss-Rigo, whose dominion stretches across the southern reaches of this predominantly Catholic nation. “They come here with cries of ‘Allahu Akbar.’ They want to take over.”

The bishop’s stark language reflects a broader spiritual struggle in Europe over how to respond to a burgeoning flow of predominantly Muslim men, women and children onto a largely Christian continent.

The pope’s call for compassion and charity is competing with a view most prominently articulated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who has cast the flow of migrants as a direct challenge to Europe’s Christian character.

And in Hungary at least, it’s the prime minister’s view that seems to be winning out.
[Pope calls on Europe’s Catholics to take in refugees]

Even as Catholics in other parts of Europe heeded the pope’s plea for help Monday, there was little evidence here that church leaders were prepared to elevate what has so far been an anemic response to one of the worst humanitarian crises Europe has seen in decades.

And despite the heat that Orban has taken worldwide for attempts to crack down on some of the globe’s most vulnerable people by halting their journeysor throwing them into prison, his stance has seemed to only burnish his reputation here as a no-nonsense nationalist who will defend the country against an onslaught of “tens of millions” of new arrivals.

“I’m in total agreement with the prime minister,” Kiss-Rigo said in an interview Monday.

The pope, by contrast, “doesn’t know the situation.”

The situation, as Kiss-Rigo describes it, is that Europe is being inundated by people who are posing as refugees but actually present a grave threat to the continent’s “Christian, universal values.”

Migrants’ desperate quest to cross into Europe

    View Photos
ore than 332,000 people have reached Europe so far this year.

[Hungary’s prime minister becomes Europe’s Donald Trump]

Even though the majority of migrants who have crossed the border in southern Hungary are from Syria — where war has claimed more than 320,000 lives in the past four years — he judged them unworthy of assistance because most of them “have money.”

They leave rubbish in their wake, he said, and refuse when offered food.

“Most of them behave in a way that is very arrogant and cynical,” said Kiss-Rigo, who has been bishop for nine years in an area that is home to some 800,000 Catholics.

Aid workers on the border and at Budapest’s central train station — where hundreds of refugees awaited trains Monday to Western Europe — gave a different account. They described people desperate for assistance and grateful to receive it.
“When I first came to the station, it was filled with children and babies,” said Mark Balazs, a 34-year-old flight attendant. “I have three kids of my own. I imagined what I would do if there was a war here. I’d do the exact same thing they’re doing.”
For the past week, he has spent day and night at the station giving out food, clothes and diapers for Migration Aid, an all-volunteer Hungarian organization that sprang up several months ago to fill the void left by the government and more established charity groups.

The group’s efforts have not gone unnoticed by the migrants.

“You have a good people Hungaria,” was chalked on the station walls Monday as women searched through piles of donated clothes and children played with balls during a rare break in their epic and perilous travels.

But the volunteers are getting little support from larger aid organizations — particularly Christian charities.

Balazs Odor — an official with the Reformed Church in Hungary, the country’s second-largest denomination — acknowledged that faith groups had been slow off the mark in responding to the crisis.

“We were not fast or vocal in giving a clear reaction to the situation. I have to admit that,” he said.

Odor said he rejected Orban’s view that Christianity in Europe is under assault but said the arrival in Europe of hundreds of thousands of Muslims had unquestionably “created anxiety. And that’s politically misused.”

Hungary is not a particularly religious country, with a half-
century of communist rule having done much to curb the church’s influence and Sundays marked by the same thinly populated pews that dominate cathedrals across Europe.

But Orban’s attempts to position the country as a Christian bulwark against a Muslim onslaught strikes a deep chord in the national psyche, said Botond Feledy, a political analyst.

Hungary’s major national holiday still commemorates the country’s turn to Christianity, which dates back over a millennium. And nationalists often cite the country’s 17th-century defeat of its Ottoman occupiers as proof that Hungary is a critical European safeguard against malign influences to the east.

Orban has played the Christian card before, introducing a clause in the constitution that cites “the role of Christianity in preserving nationhood” and promoting religious education in the schools.

The tactic has worked for him, boosting his popularity.

But to Eva Varga, a 63-year-old doctor providing volunteer help to the migrants Monday, a refugee crisis is the wrong time to play religious politics.

“For me, there are no Christian patients and no non-Christian patients,” said Varga, who has provided medical help in countries around the world for the relief organization Hungarian Baptist Aid. “There are only my patients, and I’m obliged to take care of them.”

VIDEO: GREEK ISLAND TURNS INTO WAR ZONE AS SYRIAN AND AFGHAN MIGRANTS CLASH

    RTL

    by DONNA RACHEL EDMUNDS
    8 Sep 201551

The Greek island of Lesbos has been turned into a war zone by rioting migrants, leaving the island’s 85,000 residents in despair. Around 25,000 migrants are currently camped out on the island with hundreds more arriving daily, leading to frequent violent clashes and rioting despite their claim to be fleeing violence.

Located just 6 miles from the Turkish shore, the migrants come over in inflatable boats which they cut up on arrival to prevent being turned back, expecting to be able to quickly travel on by ferry to mainland Europe, German station RTL has reported.

Instead, they are being held on the Island while the police issue emigration documents, a delay which can take days. The wait is causing tension between groups as Afghans accuse Syrians of getting preferential treatment by the authorities, leading to vicious violent clashes.

As rocks, bottles and municipal bins fly, one tearful local woman told RTL “We are in danger, every day, every minute. We need someone to protect us. They come into our houses. I want to go to work, but I can’t. Our children want to go to school, but they can’t. They have stolen our lives!”

Another yells at the migrants flinging rocks as they pass his house: “Go away from here! This is private land! Respect Greece!”

    The full video is here.

The main town of Lesbos, Mytilene, now resembles a war zone as the migrants rip apart the infrastructure and use the town as a urinal. Mayor Galinos helpless in the face of such an onslaught is out of ideas, and is calling on the European Union to do something.

“This is a ticking time bomb that will go off soon,” he said. “We have managed to avert some catastrophes, but we need help, more ferries. This island is so small, we can’t solve a worldwide humanitarian crisis by ourselves. The European Union needs to act.”

Monday night saw fresh clashes as 2,500 surged towards a government chartered ferry bound for Athens. Just a dozen police and coastguards, armed with batons, struggled to control the crowd by shouting “keep back”.

Junior interior minister Yiannis Mouzalas told local radio “the situation is on the verge of explosion.” It is a scene being replicated on islands all along Greece’s coastline.

Evangelos Meimarakis, leader of Greece’s right wing New Democracy party which could retake power this month, said the country should strengthen its borders to as to dispel “the message that ‘it’s good over here, come over'”.

I notice that they seem to all be young able bodied men, not "women and children" .

Saudi Arabia will not accept any of the "refugees".
INTERVIEW: THE SAUDI ARABIAN STUDENT HELPING THE $10,000-A-PIECE MIGRANTS ENTER EUROPE

BUDAPEST, Hungary (Sept. 8– The pictures are stark but they don’t tell the whole story. They rarely do. As Europe wakes each day to yet another round of migrants stepping ashore in Greece and Italy, it would be easy to think that these are the ‘huddled masses, yearning to breathe free’ made famous by poet Emma Lazarus and immortalised on the Statue of Liberty pedestal.

Except the people arriving in Europe are anything but huddled and the numbers are staggering; an estimated 340,000 have arrived so far this year alone.

As Breitbart London has reported they are for the most part fit, able-bodied young men fleeing wars in Syria, Iraq and Libya looking to get a foothold in continental Europe so they can send for their families. Their journey is costing anywhere up to USD $10,000 each – most of which goes into the pockets of people smugglers – and facilitated along the way by eager helpers.

At Budapest’s main Keleti railway terminus you can meet them every morning; small groups of migrants with their pre-paid rail tickets for the journey to Vienna and onwards to Germany. About 20,000 migrants made their way through the western Balkans into Hungary and then Austria and Germany over the last weekend alone.

Zohoor Asiri (pictured below right), a Saudi Arabian student in Hungary, is one of the people who make the trip possible.

Zohoor Asiri is a familiar sight at Budapest’s main Keleti railway station.

“I have come here as a friend to all because I can speak Arabic and show them how to deal with the authorities,” she said. “I show them where to get food, get new clothes, where to go for the ticket office – even where to charge their phones.

“There are plenty more people like me on the Greek islands where they land and in Italy also. It is a long dangerous trip with many frontiers to cross. I am happy to do what I can here to get them on their final step of their journey to Germany and Angel Merkel’s promised freedom.”

All along the overland trek the story is the same, according to Asiri. Once the migrants have landed after their Mediterranean crossing there are bureaucratic hurdles that have to be cleared and her local knowledge coupled language skills makes it possible.

So does social media. Every migrant group has at least one person clutching an iPhone. As much time is seemingly spent looking for somewhere to charge it as is spent checking the next leg of the journey. There is food, water and changes of clothing in abundance. All of it donated by charity.

I spoke to men from Syria and Iraq but also others who started out in Bangladesh, Iran, Pakistan, Eritrea and Sudan. They are wary of having their pictures taken but will talk on condition of anonymity.

Omar, 19, told me he left his home town of Lattakia just outside Damascus, Syria three weeks ago. A port city, it was a simple exchange of USD $5,000 with a people smuggler that put him on a boat.

“I come because I know Germany will give me a home,” he said. “My family will come too… very soon. No future in Syria. Too much fighting. Money from my family helps get me here and I will make my life work to get my mother, father, brothers, uncles here too.”

Omar and everyone travelling in his group of 12 men knows they will not be turned away. Angela Merkel has stated Germany expects to take at least 800,000 people classified as ‘asylum seekers’ this year. The figure is likely to go up and could hit one million, asBreitbart London has reported, a record number that shows no sign of stopping.

According to the European Resettlement Network, the benefits that accrue to Omar on arrival in Germany are immediate. He will stay at reception centres for up to six weeks and a maximum of three months. After that he will be offered either communal accommodation, or housed individually, depending on the policy of the federal state.

Asylum seekers who are unable to support themselves financially “receive what they need for their day-to-day life”, the German government says. Support varies from state to state, but generally includes direct benefits covering food and accommodation costs, plus limited cash spending money.

After holding a residence permit for 5 years, resettled refugees may apply for permanent residency subject to their:

    having a ‘secure livelihood’ and access to accommodation adequate for all members of their household;

    • having access to the state pension (having paid contributions for at least 60 months) or a comparable private scheme;
    • posing no threat to public order or safety; and
    • demonstrating adequate knowledge of the German language, legal and social system by passing the final tests of the orientation and B1 level language courses.

All of the above helps to add to the ‘pull factor’ that draws migrants across the Mediterranean and on to a new life in Germany. Once settled and issued with a passport they are free to travel and work anywhere within the EU.

Germany’s population is shrinking, due to its low birth rate, and it could be argued that the country needs young people like Omar to ensure its future. As long as there is work.

Germany’s unemployment rate crept up to 6.4 percent in August, but the Federal Labor Agency says the job market in Europe’s largest economy remains robust.

The agency reported last month that 23,000 more people were jobless in August over July, for a total of 2.796 million people out of work. That sent the jobless rate up 0.1 percentage points from 6.3 percent in July.

History shows the rapid growth of a young adult population unable to find employment can lead to social unrest. That might be Germany’s future if the national economy stalls and, for better or worse, Omar might be part of it.

Muslim Refugees Chant “Allahu Akbar,” “F**k You,” Attack Citizens, Throw Feces

The footage that TV networks don't broadcast

by Paul Joseph Watson | September 8, 2015

Muslim “refugees” in Budapest chanted “Allahu Akbar” and “f**k you” while others in Italy attacked an old lady and threw feces at bystanders as Germany announced that it would be prepared to take 500,000 asylum seekers every year.
Although mainstream media coverage of the migrant crisis has focused on happy families and children, footage not broadcast by TV networks shows a different side to some of those crossing into Europe.
A video shot just outside Budapest’s Keleti railway station shows Muslim migrants chanting “Allahu Akbar” and “f**k you” as they engage in running battles with police.
Another clip of Muslims on a train in France shows a man screaming out slogans before all the passengers chant “Allahu Akbar” in unison.
Meanwhile, an eyewitness at the Italy-Austrian border relates how she saw an elderly Italian woman grabbed by her hair and pulled from her car by a group of “aggressive young men” who wanted to steal the car to get to Germany, while others threw excrement at bystanders.
“Half an hour ago on the border between Italy and Austria i saw a huge crowd of immigrants. With all solidarity to people in difficult circumstances I have to say that what I saw arouses horror. This huge mass of people – sorry – but it’s an absolute wilderness … Vulgar, throwing bottles, shouting “We want Germany”. So what, Germany is now a paradise?”
“I saw an elderly Italian woman in a car that was surrounded by the immigrants. They pulled her by the hair out of the car and wanted to use it to go to Germany. They tried to topple the bus I was in. They threw feces at us, banging on the door for the driver to open it, spat on the glass. My question is- for what purpose? How do they want to assimilate in Germany? For a moment, i felt like in a warzone. I really feel sorry for these people, but if they would reach Poland – I do not think they would receive any understanding from us.”
Footage taken at a migrant camp near Milan shows refugees rioting over “poor living conditions”.
Another compilation video shows African migrants and others tearing down traffic lights, attacking shops and beating people up.
The wave of migrants crossing into Europe shows little sign of abating, with Germany announcing that it would be willing to take 500,000 “asylum seekers” every single year in addition to the 800,000 expected to arrive before the end of this year.
As we document in the video below, many of the so-called “refugees” are actually economic migrants who are fleeing to a higher standard of living, and not from war or ISIS persecution.
“If Europe does not seal its borders, what is to stop the Islamic world and Third World from coming and repopulating the continent with their own kind, as the shrinking native populations of Europe die out?” writes Pat Buchanan in his new column.

Exactly. And they're dirty, messy, dishonest and creepy "economic migrants" to boot.
