Why does this Administration insist on Biting the Hand that Feeds It? Withholding Social Security and Military Paychecks is the Only Answer? IMO, I think Not!

For starters, let’s propose a Congressional salary cut of 10% a year. If, considering that by law, members of each chamber receive an annual salary of $175,000 (far more than the median American household income of $50,000 a year) a mere cut of 10% would only be approximately $17,500 a year per member times 535 members – the savings would be over 9 million a year. Multiply this by the next 5 years- there’s $46 million. What if it were a 15% or 20% cut? That wouldn’t even come close to lowering Congresses income to the median American household income of $50,000 a year, but yet, would result in even more savings.

Let’s look at the 82,034 federal workers who are making $150,000 or more per year, http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/30557 , and give them a 10% cut. Wow! $123,000,000 saved! Extend that for a mere 5 years - $615,000,000!

According to a recent study conducted by the Heritage Foundation http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/30557 , federal workers already earn 30 to 40% more money on average than their counterparts in the private sector. When you factor in such things as retirement and health care benefits, the compensation gap between federal workers and private sector employees gets even larger. According to the Heritage Foundation: "Including non-cash benefits adds to this disparity. The average private-sector employer pays $9,882 per employee in annual benefits, while the federal government pays an average of $32,115 per employee." Now, what if this spending were brought on a par with the private sector? Significant savings? You bet!

Now, let’s get a little deeper into the problem. Let’s look at the United Nations. The U.S. is currently assessed 22 percent of the U.N. regular budget and more than 27 percent of the U.N. peacekeeping budget. In dollar terms, the Administration’s budget for FY 2011 requested $516.3 million for the U.N. regular budget and more than $2.182 billion for the peacekeeping budget. http://www.heritage.org/research/report ... -time-high . How generous. YOU can fund over $2 BILLION a year to the UN when YOU can’t fund a lousy $20 a month COL for Social Security recipients? Considering the drain on this budget- isn’t it vital that the United States Congress revives and passes HR 1146: The American Sovereignty Restoration Act of 2009, and severs ALL ties with the UN! Five year saving: over $10 Billion!

And what about Foreign Aid? $50 Billion a Year! And Obama wants to DOUBLE this? http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter ... 0-billion/ How do YOU justify $50 Billion a Year to Foreign Nations when 20 million American Citizens are unemployed? 10% unemployment is UNACCEPTABLE! 2 Years of unemployment is UNACCEPTABLE! Americans losing their homes to foreclosure is UNACCEPTABLE! But $50 Billion a Year to Foreign Nations is ACCEPTABLE?

Here’s a novel thought…ELIMINATE FOREIGN AID! A $50 Billion a Year saving! Take a SMALL portion of that saving (a very small portion) say $1 Million and give it to each American Taxpayer. There are approximately 140 Million American Taxpayers in this country. That’s a mere $140 Million compared to $50 Billion a Year to Foreign Nations! You don’t think that would stimulate the economy? What if it were ½ a million? Even a ¼ million? A mere $100,000? What would taxpayers do? They would spend! They would pay off mortgages, buy new vehicles and RV’s, new homes, take vacations, upgrade their homes, landscape, invest, start new businesses, and, yes – even pay more taxes. What a simple solution as opposed to Obama’s $600 per taxpayer economic stimulus the first year and his whopping $250 stimulus to Social Security Recipients the second year, both of which failed miserably!

And let’s talk about Illegal Aliens. You don’t think that is costing the American Taxpayer or the Government anything a year? Think again. Right now, US Taxpayers support ILLEGALS to the tune of $113 Billion a year! Now, there’s a substantial saving! How about securing our borders and enforcing our LAWS! That should reflect a much lower burden on our public health care systems, our public school systems, and our welfare systems who cater to illegals and their anchor babies rather than Americans. Give them 30 days to self deport, then arrest and prosecute those still here. Eliminate “country club, resortâ€
