Tonight, President Bush clashes with Democrats in Congress over
funding the war in Iraq. Bush warns delays in funding and could
have “serious consequences” for U.S. troops.

A U.S. defense contractor accused of conspiring to share U.S.
military secrets with the Chinese government is on trial in
Santa Ana, California. Naturalized American citizen and
electrical engineer Chi Mak allegedly stole classified
submarine quiet-propulsion technology as part of an espionage
ring involving his entire family. We'll have a special report
from the courthouse.

Senators Richard Durbin (D-IL) and Chuck Grassley (R-IA)
recently introduced legislation to dramatically reform the H1-B
visa program. The proposed reforms would put Americans first in
the job market and protect against corporate America’s long and
widely acknowledged abuses of the nonimmigrant visa program.
We’ll have a full report.

China is being blamed as the source of the toxic ingredient
that caused the deaths of 14 pets in the United States. Wheat
gluten, found in tainted pet food, was contaminated with the
toxic agent Melamine when it was processed in China. We’ll have
a full report on how a dangerous chemical agent made its way
into packaged pet food on America’s supermarket shelves.

Family incomes have fallen off a cliff since the turn of the
21st century. The Economic Policy Institute says family incomes
in “the new economy” have declined. Only the wealthier families
at the top sliver of the income scale have seen gains in recent
years. And median family income fell by about 1,600 dollars a
year. Join us tonight, we’ll look at wage stagnation, longer
hours worked, and the fact that the average American family is
losing ground.

The chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, Rep.
Charles Rangel, talks about his rise from the streets of Harlem
to the powerful halls of Congress in his new book, "And I
Haven't Had a Bad Day Since." He joins Lou.

And three of the nation's top radio talk show hosts will also
join Lou tonight: Mark Simone of WABC in New York; Steve
Cochran of WGN in Chicago, Illinois; and Peter Boyles of KHOW
in Denver, Colorado.
