    HELP- Anyone in MA

    just rec'd this email.....

    Right now the State Senate is debating an amendment to the Budget which would require all housing authorities to verify the immigration status of applicants for public housing.

    Since there are 49,000 tenants on a waiting list for public housing (The Boston Globe, 5/10/06), it seems absurd to let illegal aliens receive places in public housing while citizens stand in line. We know that there are hundreds of illegal aliens in state public housing.

    Please call your state senator and ask him to vote yes on Amendment 346, since it is being debated this afternoon.

    No one needs to call Senator Hedland, since he is sponsoring it. But please EVERYONE call his state senator (if he is not Hedland) NOW. The State House switchboard is 617-722-2000.

    I am told calls are better than e-mails. Because of shortness of time, don't use e-mail.

    Fax is real good, they will/can not delete a fax and takes only a few seconds to do it

    Just sent an email to my State Senator Robert Travaglini asking him to vote yes on this amendment

    They just shot it down.
