What becoming American legally should be but isn't

I was watching Dancing with the Stars last night (I know I know) anyway they were doing a piece on one of the professional dancers Louie VanAmstel and his partner.

Louie proudly announced that on Thursday he is going to become an American Citizen and made this comment

.....I will walk in a Dutchman but will leave as an American.....

What a refreshing statement. It almost make you forget how special becoming an American really is. Congratulations Louie!!

On another note Los Angeles is planning another day without an illegal alien march on May 1st. Does anyone know if this march is going to be a cross country "get together?" Hell I'm all for it, because a day without illegals is a day without traffic on the California freeways.

YES THIS IS REFRESHING. WHAT MANY IMMIGRANTS DONT SEEM TO GET IS THAT CITIZENSHIP COMES FROM THE HEART, NOT FROM A PIECE OF PAPER. IF YOU ARE NOT "AMERICAN" AT HEART, THEN YOU ARE NOT REALLY A CITIZEN.....ALL YOU HAVE IS A PIECE OF PAPER.

My Ukranian maternal grandparents and their family fled Russian Communism 80 years ago. Once here, they did NOT tell Americans to learn Ukranian, they learned English. In due time, they became and EVER after were PROUD to BE Americans. In stark contrast, TOO many of TODAY'S immigrants are freeloading ingrates who try to force THEIR languages and cultures on OUR people and care only about making money!
