Apparently, Romney owns Clear Channel
Interestingly, Romney's investing company, Bain Capital, bought out Clear Channel for $19 billion last year. Clear Channel is the largest U.S. radio station owner in the US, and owns over 1,100 radio stations, twelve radio channels on XM Satellite, and 30 TV stations. Hannity, Rush, Beck, and Savage are all syndicated on Clear Channel.

I guess the line between government and media continues to blur..."We have decided man doesn't need a backbone any more; to have one is old-fashioned. Someday we're going to slip it back on." - William Faulkner

The clear channel in Sacramento fired most of their local conservative talk show hosts about a year and a half ago. This is the place where Rush got his big break. I wonder if negotiations were taking place when they did this. I wonder if it was a requirement of the negotiations.

If Romney is using that to campaign, he can't do it without documenting it. Secondly, I don't even know anyone that owns a XM Satellite receiver so I would say the broadcast market is still sorta small.
It may not catch on. I saw someone try to locate a channel the other day and it was quite an undertaking. I don't have time for that.

Well , Clearly the media has been dumping all over Romney lately
so If he has influence with them , I haven't seen it
If anything the guy is smart enough to know when a conflict of
interest would arise and I'm sure if there was anything
going on with this it would be disclosed

Romney is not in charge of Bain any longer. He sold it many years back. I think around 1999 when he started in politics. He still owns shares and probably has some sort of profit participation, but he is not involved in the day to day operations. That being said, I would imagine that the new management would be Mitt friendly. I doubt anything covert is going on.. only the normal bias'.
