Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, announced today that oral arguments are set to begin Tuesday, September 16 and Wednesday, September 17 in two Judicial Watch illegal immigration lawsuits:

Fonseca v. Fong, Case No. A120206:

    Tuesday, September 16, 2008, 9:30 a.m.

    California Court of Appeals

    First Appellate District, Division Two

    350 McAllister Street

    San Francisco, CA 94102

Background: The court will hear an appeal filed on behalf of a San Francisco resident challenging the San Francisco Police Department's sanctuary policy that prohibits police officers from notifying federal immigration authorities when they arrest a person for various narcotics offenses whom they suspect to be an illegal alien.

Garcia v. Dicterow, Case No. G039824

    Wednesday, September 17, 2008, 9:00 a.m.

    California Court of Appeal

    Fourth Appellate District, Division Three

    925 N. Spurgeon Street

    Santa Ana, CA 92701

Background: On October 3, 2006, Judicial Watch filed a taxpayer lawsuit in the Orange County Superior Court against the City of Laguna Beach for spending taxpayer funds to operate the Laguna Day Worker Center, a day labor site that helps illegal aliens find jobs and provides other public benefits, including English language instruction. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of residents Eileen Garcia and George Riviere.

Re: Appellate Arguments to Begin in Two JW IA lawsuits

This is great news! How can JW lose? I hope other states and cities take it on. Maybe Sheriff Joe will!

Can they take on my whole state of Maine.
That crackdown in Bangor Maine on the cleaning business is also hopeful.
I can see how my awfully stupid governor of mine, BaldArchie handles those apples..

MANY LATINOS ARE SICK OF BEING TORN DOWN BY THE ILLEGAL POPULATION. ITS NOT GOOD FOR THEM. IT HAS BEEN AFFECTING LEGAL IMMIGRANTS. THEY ARE AS TIRED OF IT AS WE ARE.

ALSO I HAVE HEARD FROM SOME FRIENDS OF MINE, THAT LEGAL IMMIGRANTS ARE SOMETIMES LOSING THEIR JOB TO ILLEGALS. TWO REASONS FOR THIS ARE THAT OF COURSE ILLEGALS WORK SO CHEAP. ALSO LEGAL IMMIGRANTS HAVE POWER TO ASSERT THEIR RIGHTS UNDER LABOR LAWS.....EMPLOYERS WOULD RATHER HAVE ILLEGALS THAT ARE TOTALLY POWERLESS.
