Nine arrested, charged with trafficking
ICE investigation cools down By Lisa Peters News Reporter Six persons were arrested on state warrants are outstanding on three other individuals in connection with the federal drug investigation Operation Don't Break the ICE. The investigation, which began in January 2005, targeted methamphetamine traffickers in the Heavener area of LeFlore County. According to information provided by the U.S. Attorney's office in Muskogee, since January 2005, officers conducted surveillance, made undercover drug purchases, and used other techniques to gather evidence in this investigation. Those arrested were Judy Irvin, Kenny Jones, Dennis Hanley, Holly Gonzales and Rebecca Thomas. Each have been charged with conspiracy to traffic controlled and dangerous substance-methamphetamine. Bond was set on each of the three at $100,000 bond. Dustin Cripps was also arrested and charged with conspiracy to traffic controlled and dangerous substance-methamphetamine. He is being held on a$500,000 bond. According to District 16 Drug Task Force officer Jason Tucker, the majority of the arrests were made in Heavener. Placed under arrest on federal charges were Anthony Ybarro, Edgar Ortega Zaleta and Susan Ortega Zaleta. Approximately 100 officials assisted in the day long operation. On Tuesday, more than four pounds of crystal methamphetamine, worth $180,000, was seized along with approximately 35 firearms, numerous vehicles and $30,000 cash. The investigation continued through Thursday when four out of six homes searched had illegal drugs in plain view. The success of the investigation would not have been possible without the professional commitment to the law enforcement mission displayed by all of the local, state, and federal agencies.
