VICTORIA, Tamps. — After citizen complaints, Tamaulipas state police located last week more than 50 people believed to be in the country illegally and about to illegally cross into the United States, Mexican officials announced Saturday.

Police located 42 Central American immigrants in a house located in the Las Cucharas neighborhood in Diaz Ordaz, south of the U.S.-Mexico border near Sullivan City. Ten more people were found in the Nuevo Camargo neighborhood in the city of Camargo after they had been abandoned by human smugglers, according to a Tamaulipas Coordination Group news release.

Both occurrences happened Wednesday, and no arrests have been made, officials said.

Those detained included 20 women and 32 men from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala. Of them, 10 were minors.

From March 2014 to July 2015, Mexican state police has detained nearly 100 immigrants found in the town of Diaz Ordaz and 34 found in Camargo, the release said.
