Well, I am Southern Baptist and they don't speak for me on this issue!

I agree in being "the presence of Christ, in both proclamation and ministry, to all persons, regardless of country of origin or immigration status …" but that does not mean we should condone amnesty, nor a "compassionate path to legal status" which, in spite of their addition about this not condoning amnesty, is codespeak for amnesty! I am appalled!!! It's like they are saying, "Let's just ignore the laws of our great land in this instance, we'll close our eyes so we don't see them coming in and taking our tax dollars and jobs." How about a little compassion for the US citizens who can't get work because of illegals?!?! This makes me especially angry because I AM a Baptist!!

The Pro-ILLEGALS will attempt to cover their support of ILLEGALS by labeling those that support Securing our National Borders and Enforcing our Immigration Laws as racist, bigots, or non Christians in an attempt to cause United States Citizens to defend themselves from these charges as an attempt to divert us from the real issue of ILLEGALS invading the United States.

[quote]Southern Baptists adopt ‘Gospel response’ toward undocumented immigrants

On Wednesday, the Southern Baptist Convention adopted a resolution supporting government efforts to provide paths to citizenship for undocumented immigrants and pledged that churches work toward just treatment of people regardless of legal status, Baptist News reported.

White evangelicals, a category that includes many Southern Baptists, don’t generally take a positive position on undocumented immigrants living in the U.S. They are three times more likely to say “better border securityâ€

Not to mention the entire SBC is in complete, flagrant violation of Federal immigration laws by giving aid and comfort to illegal aliens.

Giving the Roman Catholic Church and Cardinal Mahoney great inspriation!

    NO AMNESTY

Don't reward the criminal actions of millions of illegal aliens by giving them citizenship.

Some of the comments on the source article like to CHERRY PICK their scriptures to support their agenda, how about going to Leviticus:

    "Leviticus 25

44 “However, you may purchase male and female slaves from among the nations around you. 45 You may also purchase the children of temporary residents who live among you, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, 46 passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat them as slaves, but you must never treat your fellow Israelites this way."

Does this indicate that you believe it is OK for ILLEGALS to be slaves for the ILLEGAL EMPLOYERS, the Chamber of Commerce, The Church, or any other Elitist Political Contributors for our Elitist Politicians? One may think you benefit financially from the CHEAP ILLEGAL Labor!

Don't EVEN try and hand me that line of HYPOCRISY!

This is directed to all the Mike Huckabees out there ..

    hypocrisy
a feigning to be what one is not or to believe what one does not; especially : the false assumption of an appearance of virtue or religion

    Examples of HYPOCRISY

When his private letters were made public, they revealed his hypocrisy.

Raleigh church members face immigration problems

Raleigh, N.C. — A Lumberton man said he and members of his church were detained for hours, belittled and coerced into signed documents by border patrol agents in Louisiana.

“We were intimidated. We are frightened,â€

Interesting that SLAVERY has surfaced it's ugly head in this. What does the SBC have to say about this? After all, the SBC is indirectly helping the DEVIL by supporting AMNESTY.

Will it PREACH on Sunday morning?

    WHAT!?

All they had to do is run it by the Southern Baptist Convention. They've got better hotlines into Eric Holder than this Simpson lady does ..
