No mystery here. Nebraska's largest crop is corn, which is harvested by illegal aliens, which are hired by the employers of the underground economy.
This is a pure economic dynamic in agri states that depend on Mexicans to harvest their crops, thus increasing their bottom lines.Join our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & to secure US borders by joining our E-mail Alerts at http://eepurl.com/cktGTn

Corn and Country: FREEMONT Nebraska, Mexico, and the Global Economy
(Note: This article states it is from Fall, 2010. However recent media coverage of events in Fremont, NE indicate it is a recent event article. At any rate, it sheds tremendous light into the powerful underground economy dynamics now shaping the historic demographic impact by massive illegal immigration caused by NAFTA and CAFTA throughout the United States and Mexico.)

Corn and Country: Nebraska, Mexico, and the Global Economy
The labor force composition also changed, as companies began energetically recruiting Mexican workers. As a result the Mexican population of Nebraska grew by 155 percent between 1990 and 2000. Today 75 percent of Nebraska meatpacking workers are Mexican.
This is part of a major demographic shift, involving new destinations for Latino immigrants.
Since 1990 they have begun to shift away from border states such as California and Texas and move in much larger numbers to the Midwest, Southeast, and Northeast.
The restructuring of the meatpacking industry also generated lower wage structures; deskilling; much faster production line speeds; and, not surprisingly, much higher rates of injury.Join our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & to secure US borders by joining our E-mail Alerts at http://eepurl.com/cktGTn

The poll was trending in a direction showing that the vast majority of Americans oppose what Obama is doing on immigration and thus this liberal publication pulled down the online poll and posted "This survey has been closed due to trolling." When they pulled it I think it showed 60+% opposed Obama on this.

It's not the corn farmers that are hiring illegals. I know this for a fact as I know and am involved in the farm economy here. It's Tyson and the farm machinery manufacturing plants who are hiring the illegals. Used to be a meat packing or farm manufacturing employee didn't apply for foodstamps, WIC, medicaid etc. as they were once considered good jobs and you could live on the wages. Wages are stagnet(and low) because the employers know they don't have to pay a living wage or provide affordable health insurance and other benefits for their workers.
We must push through early Thurs at this critical moment
