Global Warming Task Force Snowed In

The political left has an uncanny knack for placing ideology ahead of reality. Though this phenomenon is seen in virtually all progressive policies, it is perhaps most pronounced in the left’s blind allegiance to the theory of man-caused global warming.

Though global temperatures did increase modestly during the 1990s, that trend has since leveled off, ultimately resulting in record cold temperatures across the U.S. in recent years. Despite the fact that NASA satellites recently reported the coldest temperature ever measured on the face of the earth, global warming proponents continue to castigate “deniers” as a group dedicated to destroying the world.
In reality, the only denial taking place is on the part of activists who refuse to recognize basic meteorological facts.
This trend was highlighted this week as the White House hosted the State, Local, and Tribal Leaders Task Force on Climate Preparedness and Resilience. The group headed to Washington, D.C. to discuss a plan of action against the perceived threat of global warming just as a massive winter storm struck the nation’s capital.
One of the participants, Gov. Pat Quinn of Obama’s beloved Illinois, made the trip Tuesday after Chicago experienced its coldest night in nearly 20 years. Everyone on the task force got a taste of reality as D.C. was largely shut down due to inclement weather.
Though government offices were closed, the global warming summit continued as planned. This delicious irony was apparently lost on these cult-like adherents to a flawed climatological hypothesis.

Barack Obama seemed to usher in the cold front when he established the task force last month. Since then, states that rarely experience frigid storms have largely been brought to a standstill due to deep deposits of ice and snow.
No matter the bevy of empirical evidence disproving their faulty logic, however, those with a predilection toward blaming humans for raping the planet will never realize the error of their ways. God-given resources populate this planet in abundance; and, provide we do so responsibly, humans can make use of such materials without having a detrimental — or even noticeable — effect on the planet.
In their pursuit of control and moral superiority, these radicals claim that any weather-related anomaly proves their point. The truth, though, is that their predictions have failed so often and completely that any adherence to man-caused global warming in entirely faith-based.
