Urgent notice to the American public

Sons of Liberty International and the US military veterans whom we work with feel compelled to bring this issue to the public’s attention for the good of our country.

American Mesopotamian Organization (AMO) and their subsidiary Restore Nineveh Now (RNN) are supporting an armed group allied with Russia, Iran, the Assad regime, and the terrorist group Hezbollah.



This coalition of America’s enemies is fighting against forces backed by the United States, which the brave men of the US Special Forces will soon be working with on the ground in Syria, likely putting them at greater risk as a result of AMO and RNN’s deplorable, anti-American actions.

American Mesopotamian Organization (AMO), a political action committee, and Restore Nineveh Now (RNN), a subsidiary of AMO, are providing support to the Gozarto Protection Forces (GPF), an armed militia aligned with Russia, Iran, the Assad regime, and the terrorist group Hezbollah.

Restore Nineveh Now’s fundraising in support of armed groups fighting against U.S. interests in the Middle East is, in our opinion, a very serious betrayal of the American government, the American people, and our values as a nation.

Sons of Liberty International (SOLI) condemns the deplorable and anti-American activities of American Mesopotamian Organization (AMO) and its subsidiary Restore Nineveh Now (RNN). Their leaders, David William Lazar and Jeff Gardner have, in our opinion, betrayed our country and values through their active support of an armed group allied with Iran, Russia, the Assad regime, and Hezbollah terrorists against American policies and interests. The armed group that AMO’s subsidiary RNN is soliciting funds to support, the Gozarto Protection Forces (GPF), is a member of the Assad regime and the Iranian-Russian coalition that is involved in direct combat against forces supported by the United States. SOLI and the US military veterans whom we work with are shocked and appalled at what we consider to be a betrayal of our country, and call on the American public to condemn AMO and RNN efforts to undermine US policy while promoting the interests of Russia, Iran, and terrorists in the Middle East.

With the recent Russian military intervention in Syria conducting airstrikes against forces trained and supplied by the United States, the conflict has escalated to one in which Russia is actively seeking to weaken the United States and undermine our strength and policies in the region. While AMO and RNN’s support of a force allied with Russia and the Assad regime has been deplorable for months, this support has become a very serious matter that demands a response now that Russia is conducting airstrikes against our allies and with the October 30, 2015 announcement that US Special Forces will soon be in harm’s way on the front lines in Syria.

AMO and RNN’s betrayal of the United States:

AMO’s subsidiary RNN has been raising money to support the Gozarto Protection Forces (GPF), an armed group aligned with Russia, Iran, Hezbollah, and the regime of Bashar al-Assad in Syria.

International security analysts have been monitoring this development since March, 2015 when AMO and RNN began supporting the GPF and working against US foreign policy interests in the region.

David William Lazar, the chairman of AMO, was born in Baghdad and immigrated to the United States in 1979. After receiving his education in the United States and enjoying the benefits of American citizenship, he is now, in our view, betraying the country that gave him refuge and opportunity by supporting America’s enemies abroad.

David William Lazar and Jeff Gardner have engaged in a disinformation campaign against pro-American forces in Iraq and Syria, including the Kurdish Peshmerga, YPG, and Sons of Liberty International, which for months has involved issuing false public statements and contacting journalists and media producers in an attempt to interfere with the press coverage and media appearances of a group advocating for the support of pro-American forces.

The United States is supporting the Democratic Forces of Syria, a coalition of Kurdish, Arab, and Assyrian fighters fighting against ISIS and seeking the overthrow of the Assad regime. In recent weeks the USA has airdropped supplies to the Democratic Forces of Syria, and on October 30, 2015 the White House announced that US Special Forces will soon be on the ground assisting the Democratic Forces of Syria.

The Assad regime, Russia, Iran, Hezbollah, and the GPF whom AMO and RNN are fundraising for are fighting against the Democratic Forces of Syria. There is no doubt that AMO, RNN, David William Lazar, and Jeff Gardner are supporting enemies of the United States or their allies, and they openly admit to doing so.

The brave men of the US Special Forces who will be on the ground with the Democratic Forces of Syria in the coming weeks could be at greater risk of death or capture as a result of AMO, RNN, David William Lazar, and Jeff Gardner’s deplorable actions of supporting forces fighting against them.

Numerous sources in Syria have informed us that the GPF, supported by AMO and RNN, received military training from the terrorist organization Hezbollah, which was responsible for the deaths of 258 Americans in bombings of a US Embassy and US Marine barracks in Lebanon in the 1980s.

Sons of Liberty International (SOLI) has been actively involved in supporting pro-American, anti-ISIS forces in Iraq since 2014. After learning that donors in the United States may have recently been persuaded by AMO and RNN into unknowingly supporting anti-American forces in Syria, and that some in the media have made the mistake of giving David William Lazar and Jeff Gardner a platform to advocate for anti-American forces in Syria, SOLI and the US military veterans whom we work with feel compelled to bring this issue to the public’s attention for the good of our country.

It is important to note that AMO, RNN, David William Lazar, and Jeff Gardner do not represent the Assyrian people.

1. The mainstream Assyrian force is the Syriac Military Council (Mawtbo Fulhoyo Suryoyo, or MFS), which is part of the Democratic Forces of Syria supported by the United States. The GPF, backed by AMO and RNN, is a small, fringe group allied with the Assad regime, Russia, Iran, and Hezbollah, and does not represent the majority of Assyrian people.

We, like many patriotic Americans, consider the actions of American Mesopotamian Organization (AMO) and Restore Nineveh Now (RNN), and their leaders David William Lazar and Jeff Gardner, to be deplorable and anti-American.
