Second Amendment Defenders Want CNN's Piers Morgan Deported

CNN host Piers Morgan's recent on-screen clashes with Gun Owners of America executive director Larry Pratt ("You're an unbelievably stupid man, aren't you?") and More Guns, Less Crime author John Lott ("You need to stop repeating a blatant lie, about what happens in other countries."), as well as his related Twitter rants ("... the right to bear arms does NOT include the right to murder children with assault rifles.") have a lot of gun owners pissed off, and they've they've decided to exploit his literal un-Americanness (he's British) to do something about their anger. On the White House's "We the People" website, over 7,000 people (and counting) have so far signed on to a petition asking President Obama to deport the former America's Got Talent judge:

British Citizen and CNN television host Piers Morgan is engaged in a hostile attack against the U.S. Constitution by targeting the Second Amendment. We demand that Mr. Morgan be deported immediately for his effort to undermine the Bill of Rights and for exploiting his position as a national network television host to stage attacks against the rights of American citizens.

If the petition gets another 18,000 more signatures by January 20, then the White House will have to issue a response about whether or not it plans to act on the request. The answer seems easy predict, which means these incensed patriots will likely have to explore other options if they want to get rid of Morgan. We suggest donning those tea party-style faux-colonial hats, storming CNN's studios, and dumping the contents of the network's craft services tables into the Hudson.

Wasn't Morgan implicated in Rupert Murdoch's manipulating the elections in England via Murdoch's vast propaganda machine?

BTW, Murdoch said the only reason he got an American citizenship was so that he could own Fox News.

What Piers Morgan doesn’t want you to know about Britain and violent crime

National Review posted this yesterday and this is perhaps why Piers Morgan gets allinterrupty when someone tries to explain how bad violent crime is in Great Britain:

According to the Mail, Britons suffer 1,158,957 violent crimes per year, which works out at 2,034 per 100,000 residents. By contrast the number in notoriously violent South Africa is 1,609 per 100,000.
The U.S., meanwhile, has a rate of 466 crimes per 100,000 residents, which is lower than France’s, at 504; Finland’s, at 738; Sweden’s, at 1123; and Canada’s at 935.

As a result of both the different ways in which these statistics are collected and of varying definitions of “violent crime,” there will naturally be some discrepancies between countries. Enough to account for a 5:1 difference between Britain and the United States, though? I rather think not.

See, we’re not even in the top 10, just as the article pointed out. Maybe someone should show Piers Morgan this chart and make him choke on that rubbish he is getting all self-righteous about.
