    I have responded with this.

    Senator ________,

I certainly understand your point. But in our book, anytime elected officials in America vote against 80% of the public to reward illegal aliens at the expense of innocent American students and taxpayers, we consider that underhanded and below the belt.

Procedurally, every Arkansas citizens deserves to know how each member of the committee voted on this highly unpopular and outrageous bill.

It will most certainly be labeled as underhanded by the people of Arkansas, so they better be ready to suck it up on the home front.

We, Americans, have been passive way too LONG, dear elected officials.

Everyone please start going to "your" City Counsel Meetings and School Board Meetings. And visit, call, write, and fax all elected officials daily if possible.

    Dear Senator______

Please be advised if you pass SB799 it is against the [b]"Immigration nationality Act of 1996" section 8 USC 1623 and it reads “…an alien who is not lawfully present in the United States shall not be eligible on the basis of residence within a State for any postsecondary education benefit unless a citizen or national of the United States is eligible for such a benefit…â€

Sen Sharon Trust said she would vote no on In-State Tuition

I just emailed every member of the Senate. So far I got one email back, from Sharon Trusty, who said she will vote NO!

Senator Kim Hendren is also voting no!

Kim Hendren also replied to my email and said she will vote against In-State tuition for illegal aliens. Larry Teague said he would consider my comments when the Senate begins discussions on the issue. hmmmm....

I just talked with an activist who is at the legislature, and she met with one of the Senators who told her he expects the bill to come up next Monday, 3/30. Take that FWIW; something unexpected could happen like occurred yesterday.

I am currently working toward a list of critical legislators to contact, and should have that information sometime in the next few hours.

    My email to the Senators:

I am writing to express my grave concern as well as my opposition to SB799. Surely Arkansas will not allow the children of illegal aliens to attend Arkansas higher education facilities while denying the children of American citizens the same rights? I am stunned that Arkansas is even considering this bill! Not only are 80% of American citizens against illegal aliens even being in our nation but this would also be against Federal Law. Why would Arkansas want to provide, at American taxpayer expense, a higher education for people for whom it is illegal to work in our nation? Are you prepared to reward illegal aliens and their children because the parents got away with breaking the laws long enough for their children to be educated at the expense of our own, all on the tax dollars of honest, hard-working, law abiding American citizens? We Americans have footed the bill for these people and their children much too long already, Senator.

Here is what the law says:

"Immigration nationality Act of 1996" section 8 USC 1623 and it reads “…an alien who is not lawfully present in the United States shall not be eligible on the basis of residence within a State for any postsecondary education benefit unless a citizen or national of the United States is eligible for such a benefit…â€
