Duck Dynasty's multi-million payday: Walmart SELLS OUT of merchandise...

    December 20, 2013/

(DAILY MAIL) As the future of their show lies in doubt, the Duck Dynasty clan are still making millions thanks to their megabucks Walmart merchandising deal, MailOnline can today reveal.

The Robertson family has a merchandise empire that is estimated by Forbes to be worth about $400 million - and their deal with Walmart makes up around half of this.

And today, as Walmart refused to comment on the future of their relationship with the TV family, just one glimpse at the chainstore's website shows fans are flocking to buy Duck Dynasty merchandise amid the furor over patriach Phil Robertson's homophobic comments.

Meanwhile, MailOnline can reveal a publicist from A&E DID accompany Phil to his interview with GQ magazine -but was NOT there when he made his incendiary comments.

Walmart's sells a huge array of Duck Dynasty merchandise- from T-shirts to camo bedding, posters, watches, toy trucks, camo chairs, clothing, jewellery and even bottle openers.

Today, as Phil Robertson's close-knit family insisted they would not film the hit A&E show without him following his suspension by the network, fans tweeted they were rushing to Walmart.

However, others pointed out that this support merely puts more money into A&E's pockets as well, with one tweeting: 'Loving that Tea People are rushing to Walmart to Duck Dynasty swag in protest of A& who OWNS the merchandising.'

Another added: 'I better rush off to Walmart and buy up all the Phil Robertson merchandise 'cuz it's gonna be a collectors item one day.'

Another tweet read: 'Your stores may look quite vacant when you pull down the Duck Dynasty merch. May want to double down on the Honey Boo Boo.'

A Walmart spokeswoman declined to comment.

A Facebook group demanding that A&E reinstate "Duck Dynasty" star Phil Robertson has become more popular than the A&E's official Facebook page.
As of Friday, "Stand With Phil Robertson" has garnered more than 1.3 million likes on Facebook, versus A&E's approximately 588,000.
Earlier this week Robertson was indefinitely suspended by A&E over his remarks against homosexuality in a GQ interview.
Created by activist Eric Odom not long after news of the suspension broke, Stand With Phil Robertson was one of several Facebook pages created in support of the "Duck Dynasty" personality.
"A&E has suspended Phil Robertson. Join the movement to make our voices heard... WE STAND WITH PHIL!," reads the group's description.

Within hours of the Wednesday evening announcement of the suspension, the group garnered hundreds of thousands of likes. By Thursday, Stand With Phil Robertson reached the one million mark.Follow us Get CP eNewsletter ››
The official Facebook page of A&E has, as of Friday morning, approximately 588,000 likes and ironically enough has several posts on its main page about upcoming "Duck Dynasty" episodes and specials.
As of Thursday evening, there are no posts on the A&E page regarding the Robertson controversy, but several individuals have posted comments expressing their grievances with the news.
"Phil Robertson is entitled to his beliefs! This is the United States of America! If you don't like his views don't watch," posted Lori Anne.
"Kick off 'Duck Dynasty' and you become another non-watched network on our television. He has every right to his opinion as much as the people that demand that everyone holds their opinion," posted Thom Harris.
While fans of Robertson continue to express their opposition to A&E's decision, gay advocacy groups have expressed their support
In a recently released statement, GLAAD's spokesperson Wilson Cruz stood by the cable channel's action because Robertson's remarks were "unacceptable."
"What's clear is that such hateful anti-gay comments are unacceptable to fans, viewers, and networks alike," said Cruz.
"By taking quick action and removing Robertson from future filming, A&E has sent a strong message that discrimination is neither a Christian nor an American value."
In addition to the Facebook groups and pages, many conservative groups have also launched online petitions demanding A&E reverse its decision.
Also several conservative politicians and social commentators have declared that Robertson's rights to speech and religion were in some way violated by A&E's decision.
In a recently released statement, the Robertson family itself said that they stand by Phil and will work with A&E to reach an agreement.

If you're going to buy Duck Dynasty merchandise, please buy the Duck Commander brand as it belongs to the Robertsons. The Duck Dynasty brand belongs to A&E.

Stand with Phil Facebook Page Gets 1.3 Million Facebook Likes in 24 Hours While Obamacare Only Sees 500,000 Sign Ups in December…Meanwhile healthcare.gov Crashes Two Hours Before the President’s Big Speech Today

    December 20, 2013 // By: Joe Calandra Jr. // Today's News // No Comment

According to Breitbart News, the Obamacare website that cost taxpayers over $634 Million has crashed…again…The President has spent the last several weeks urging people to sign up for insurance on healthcare.gov and assuring the public that the website is functional, secure, and user friendly.

However, today’s incident proves that President Obama’s assurances are yet again, empty words.
Breitbart calls the meltdown a “full crash,” meaning, “the site is not fully-functioning for anyone.”

Another highlight from today’s presser is news that, according to Obama, 500,000 Americans signed up for healthcare on the website this month, despite all the crashes and error messages.

The President did not mention how many of those “signups” represented people who actually enrolled in a healthcare plan.

However, it should be said that while 500,000 people signed up for Obamacare in December, 1.3 million Americans joined the Stand With Phil Facebook Page in just 24 hours to show their support for the Duck Dynasty Patriach, Phil Robertson, who was suspended from A&E for calling homosexuality illogical.

The Obamacare December signup figure is put in clearer perspective by considering the fact that 300,000 Americans signed the Back Phil petition to express their outrage over Phil Robertson’s treatment by A&E over the course of 48 hours…

You can view the full transcript of Obama’s conference via The Washington Post here.
