Fix Mexico: Outlaw Spanish, Make 'English Only' the Law!

    By John W. Lillpop

    Think about it.

Just south of the most prosperous, technologically advanced, and sophisticated nation in the world, sits Mexico, a third-world failure.

Mexico is riddled with corruption, illiteracy, and poverty. It is a nation that cannot, or will not, feed, educate, house, and provide medical care for its own citizens.

Owing to the fact that America is, and has been for decades, the financial, educational, and cultural envy of the entire world, why has the Mexican government failed to capitalize on Mexico's close proximity to the great United States of America?

After all, US firms outsource scores of millions of dollars of labor to India and China and other nations thousands of miles away from our shores and business centers. Doing so is costly, inefficient, and inconvenient.

Why are those lucrative opportunities not outsourced to Mexico, which is so much closer to the US and, presumably, more easily controlled and managed?

    The short answer: English!

Unlike India and China, third world Mexico has failed to make English instruction a major priority in that nation's backward educational curriculum.

Instead, the Mexican government prefers to ship its illiterate peasants across the US borders for American taxpayers to support.

It is time for the working class in Mexico to arise and revolt!

Mexicans citizens must DEMAND that Spanish be outlawed in Mexico and be replaced with English only!

Oh, but they HAVE capitalized on the close proximity!!

They are raking in billions sent by the hoardes of their illegal aliens to finance their beloved Mexico, raking in billions in drug trade revenues, and bilking more billions from our government under the guise of various "aid packages".

Mexico has no intention of ever doing a damned thing to fix their own country. It is far easier for them to sit on their lazy, failed nation ass, and do what they do best........steal from the United States which is a windfall for Mexico without them ever having had to do any work.

It's time for the working class of America to rise and protest. I do not believe we should be wasting our time on what a failed, corrupt, third-world country like mexico should be doing. Mexico has been next to the United States for over 200 years. If mexico has not figured out how to economically exploit ( excluding illegal invaders and drugs) this relationship by now, well, I do not hold out much hope for that to happen.

Further, why would a listless mexico exert the effort that such a protest against spanish would require, when they can simply illegally cross the border and continue to be accomodated in their beloved spanish. This while enjoying all the benefits this country has to offer, through their explotation of our 14th amendment and the citizenship it conveys to their anchor babies.

John W. Lillpop is a great American and I agree with him virtually 100% of the time. The fact is, they do not want to speak English! The issue is not their ability, it's their desire to speak English. It's a cultural issue with many of these people, irrespective of the adverse affect it may have on their financial opportunities.

The protest needs to take place in this country against accomodating those who refuse to speak English. That's what needs to happen.

He makes an excellent point! In requiring increasing Spanish instruction in U.S. public schools, we are depriving U.S. students of instruction not only in their own native language, but also in the "universal language of business" - English. India is surging ahead in placing its nationals all around the world based on the historical chance of their former British colonization, which brought them both an excellent model of Western schools, and, of course, English. Middle class parents throughout the world sacrifice financially so that their children can attend private schools to acquire this vocational skill (fluent English), while our own children increasingly are being deprived of English skills in schools we all pay taxes to fund!

However, patronizing references such as "Make it pronto, Pancho" do not help the tone of our discussion.

While I agree that English is a major hurdle for Mexico, it is way too simplistic of an explanation by itself.

Countries like India have succeeded (and learned English) because they were once under the control of the British Empire. They had generations of schooling and business management steeped in British tradition, which allowed them to build a solid infrastructure for success.

So while English would be a necessary precursor to such future success for Mexico, many other things would have to accompany it. Unfortunately, Mexico has some very wealthy and powerful people who aren't currently prepared for such a cultural revolution.

The MAJOR reason Mexico REMAINS a THIRD-world CESSPOOL is the GREED and MANIPULATION by her EGOISTIC, EXPLOITATIVE RULING elite. As long as THIS thorn persists in Mexico's side, there is LITTLE hope for improvement!

I think some of you missed the humor in this article. Lighten up -- yes we fight hard, but must be able to sort the serious from the facetious.
