Thread: Major Battle for Congressional Seat at Southern New Mexico

ALERT: A major battle to secure our nation's border is being fought right now in Southern New Mexico, and your help is urgently needed today to defeat a pro-amnesty group and their hand-picked candidate.

As a Founder and Honorary Co-Chair of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps PAC, I've been paying special attention to the Republican Primary in New Mexico's Second Congressional District. This Southern New Mexico district -- which includes nearly 200 miles of border with Mexico -- is widely seen as a front line in the fight to protect our nation.

That's why I was so concerned to hear that the National Restaurant Association -- a pro-amnesty special interest group -- has recruited their former Chairman of the Board to run for Congress in this critical border district.

Last year, the National Restaurant Association joined forces with the National Council of La Raza, the National Immigration Forum, and other radical left-wing groups. Along with Ted Kennedy, these organizations fought to pass a blanket amnesty bill for over 12 million illegal aliens and their families -- legislation that would have been devastating and costly to our nation.

We simply can't afford to lose this congressional seat to a candidate who takes his marching orders from Washington special interests and militant pro-amnesty groups like La Raza.

Luckily, there IS a candidate who is standing up against these liberal special interest groups and loudly proclaiming that our nation's sovereignty is NOT for sale:

His name is Aubrey Dunn.

Aubrey Dunn will NEVER support amnesty for illegal aliens in any form. Aubrey knows that terrorists and those who would do our families harm have been traveling across our nation's open border for far too long -- and it's time to take action.

Aubrey Dunn is a strong Christian conservative who is committed to protecting our border, cutting taxes, defending life, and strengthening the American family. Aubrey was the FIRST candidate in this race to put his name on the line and sign the Americans for Tax Reform pledge against ALL tax increases.

Aubrey is a retired banker and currently operates a 40-section cattle ranch in New Mexico with his wife, Robin. The Dunn's are the proud parents of three grown children, and Aubrey's father was a well-regarded conservative State Senator from Southern New Mexico in the 1960s and 1970s.

As you know, we generally get involved only with campaigns where there is a clear cut difference on the issues and a real opportunity to WIN. This is a winnable race in a Republican district -- a Republican has held this congressional seat since 1980 -- and the outcome in November will likely be decided in the June Republican Primary. The question is: Will the GOP nominate a pro-amnesty candidate in the primary...or will they support a pro-American sovereignty, pro-national security, anti-amnesty conservative like Aubrey Dunn?

Aubrey just placed first in a six-way race at the Republican Party's Pre-Primary Nominating Convention, and a recent poll of 400 likely Republican primary voters found that he has significant district-wide support and is leading in the Second Congressional District campaign. But Aubrey must raise the funds necessary to hold onto this lead.

Aubrey Dunn's opponent has taken tens of thousands of dollars from the National Restaurant Association and their pro-amnesty friends. Not surprisingly, Aubrey's opponent has also taken thousands from individuals whose companies are known to have hired illegals in the past, such as a number of food manufacturers, restaurants and hotel chains. (Source: Federal Election Commission) They know Aubrey's opponent will take their pro-amnesty views to Capitol Hill -- and they'll spend whatever it takes to defeat Aubrey Dunn.

Aubrey's campaign currently has $287,148 in the bank -- a respectable amount -- but he'll need at least twice that much to beat back his opponent in the Republican Primary.
