Thanks Gordon Smith!!
Good thread!!
Gotta get a round of applause for Oregon's Junior Senator Gordon Smith, who's apparent understanding of the issues and having an actual conscience lead him to vote NO on cloture today! One more on Thursday Sen. Smith!! Stand your ground my friend!!
Thanks Senator Smith!! Today you were a hero for the American People!!
Senator Gordon Smith has only missed 2 votes (0.9%) during this Congress, and has for the most part voted how I would have voted had I been in his shoes on relevant topics. I believe he really listens to the issues, understands them, and votes primarily with the majority of the people he represents, a concept that seems sorely absent from most politicians these days. He and I agree on Immigration, Federal funding for stem cell research, Iraq, and many other major issues.
On a related note, I stumbled upon some real good information we can all benefit from, details on each member of Congress here:
http://projects.washingtonpost.com/congress/members/ - Great links to how they voted, what they voted on, stats, history, etc.
http://grades.betterimmigration.com/ - Here's another site that is really relevant to this particular issue of Scamnesty, the Immigration Voting Report Card. Many have likely seen it, but for those who haven't, there it is, look up your state!

I want to call all of these heroes today. I wish we had the telelphone numbers next to their photos. If I print the list off of ALIPAC the font is so small I can't see it. Is there anyway to add their numbers?
