A fence would never work to deter illegal immigration.
Again, not true!. A quality fence does deter illegal aliens. Why do you think we're hearing the complaints of fencing driving illegals into the deserts where some die?

What we need is the double-layered fence, with the high-speed BP road between layers, stretched across the entire border!

In America fences and no trespass signs are needed to legitimize your position. If you do not have a fence around your yard and a no trespass sign...legally...it is an open invitation to trespass. All countries control their borders. Whether it works or does not work is irrelevant. But we need internal enforcement to stop the immigration magnets just as much or more so than the fence.

Like everything else that has been way to long neglected…it will take time to build and maintain proper boarder protection.
