Two suspects in a 2007 killing have been jailed in San Diego on first-degree murder charges after their detention in Tijuana and deportation to the United States, the San Diego police said on Saturday.

The arrests by Baja California state police in Mexico revived investigations into the shooting of David Coronado, who was killed on Nov. 18, 2007, in a backyard off Brooklyn Avenue near 61st Street, according to a news release from San Diego Police Department.

Brothers Jaime and Ramiro Lizarraga, ages 20 and 24 respectively, were booked late Friday night into the downtown San Diego County jail on murder charges. The suspects are U.S. citizens.

Arrest warrants for the Lizarragas were issued after detectives learned they had fled to Mexico. Wanted bulletins were distributed later to Mexican authorities.

A 2007 newspaper obituary said Coronado, 53, was survived by a wife and three children.
