    CSpan2 - Senate Convenes 11:00am PT 9/24/07

While I will monitor the activity in the Senate for the possibility of Durbin bringing up the DREAM act, in the meanwhile they are just doing more debate on the DoD Appropriations and related stuff. So, to be clear, I have observed no mention of the DREAM act so far today.

If and when it should be introduced (and if I'm still available to be on the board today) you can rest assured that I'll post the play-by-play here in this thread.

So, if you want the latest on the Senate and DREAM Act activity today, check back here in this thread for the latest info.

    Thanks.

Alexander (R-TN) has been speaking about issues related to national unity, Iraq, etc.

Took a Arthur Schlesinger quote from Ken Burn's "The War" series last night - which stated :

'We need a little less pluribus, and and a little more unum'. - Sound familiar? (ala Richard Lamm's famous speech, perhaps)

    Morning business done.

Now, considering HR 1495 - Water Resources Bill - conference report.

    Boxer speaking (12:13pm PT)

How appropriate. Hopefully it will dawn on one or two of them that if we don't get the illegal immigration under control, in the near future we will have no water resources to discuss.

The terms 'sustainability', 'carrying capacity', 'overdevelopment', 'resource scarce' or 'resource depletion' are more than buzzwords, they're a reality and are important.

Byrd spoke before Alexander this morning. Quit a enjoyable speach. He compared the war effort to buying a lemon. LOL. He pretty much said, Bush lied and sold us a junker and the wheels are falling off and we need to quit throwing good money after bad.

I heard Landrieu, Sen. from LA say that she expected a vote on the Water Res. in 2 hours.
