Border Aerial Survey to be Released at Press Conference
TUCSON, Ariz., Aug. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- American Border Patrol will hold a press conference at 2:30 p.m., this Thursday, August 30, to release the results of an aerial survey of the U.S./Mexico border. The press conference will be held at:

2:30 p.m. Thursday, August 30 El Presidio Plaza Park 160 W. Alameda St. Tucson, AZ 85701

The survey, which covered the border from El Paso, Texas, to the Pacific Ocean at San Diego, was conducted to map the location of fencing along the border and to chart progress in implementing the Secure Fence Act of 2006.

Surveys were conducted between August, 2006 to August 13, 2007. The press will receive copies of maps showing the location of border fences and barriers and changes in these border and fences between June 5, 2007 and August 13, 2007. Particular attention will be paid to the status of the 2-layered fence as specified in the Secure Fence Act.

ABP will also display some of its high-tech equipment used in border surveillance, including the Border Hawk UAV and the "Gully Watcher" mobile thermal camera system.

"There is a lot of misinformation floating around regarding our border security systems and American Border Patrol thought it time to set the record straight," said Glenn Spencer of ABP.
