CA bill banning instate tuition for illegals

from the Californians for Population Stabilization:

While California's middle class families are squeezed by the ever-increasing cost of higher education, illegal aliens receive the subsidized, lower tuition of in-state residents. AB 1758 by Assemblyman Chuck DeVore (R-Irvine) would repeal this unfair law. It would also provide members of the California National Guard with free tuition at state colleges and universities.

In a state with a $14.5 billion deficit, it is financially irresponsible for California to expend millions of dollars to subsidize in-state tuition for illegal alien students.

It is also patently unfair that an American citizen from another state, or a foreigner residing legally in California, is required to pay thousands of dollars in additional fees for the same education.

AB 1758, the California National Guard Tuition Assistance Bill, would also provide educational assistance to the men and women who serve in the California National Guard. This action would reward their service and offer an incentive for individuals to enlist in this branch of the service.
