California Republican Party Adopts Federal E-Verify Program
to Check Its Employee for Eligibility to Work in United States,
and Calls On Labor Unions to Ensure Members are Legal Workers
to set an example for all employers in California.

The California Republican Party has adopted the federal E-Verify Program tocheck on the eligibility of its employees to work in this country. Chairman

Ron Nehring presided at the Sunday (September 9) convention session in
Indian Wells where the new policy was announced.

The convention also urged all labor unions to ensure their members could
legally work in this country.

The Republicans join the American Independent Party in embracing the
E-Verify Program of the Department of Homeland Security and Social Security Administration which is free for all employers to use. The other four California parties--Democratic, Libertarian, Green, and Peace & Freedom - have not yet adopted the program.

Convention delegate and candidate for the California 30th Congressional District,

Tony Dolz of Santa Monica, who had made the proposal for the E-Verify Program, stated, “We must set an example to all employers in the state to respect the rule of law and clean up the mess of illegal immigration.â€
