CAP ALERT! California Senate wants to stop use of E-Verify system in state !


AB 1288, by Assemblymember Paul Fong (Cupertino) would prohibit the state, local governments, and special districts in California from requiring an employer to use the federal "E-Verify" system, even when that employer is a contractor to the government. It has passed the Assembly and could receive a floor vote in the State Senate this Thursday.
