I don't have time to mince words...we need action and we need it now! Just in on the newswire from DC today: the State Children's Health Insurance Program bill (SCHIP) was voted on in the House of Representatives...without any committee hearing!!!

Folks, as most of you know, standard procedure for any legislation - whether in the House or the Senate - is that a bill is drafted and assigned to a committee. The committee members then schedule the bill for a hearing, debate, and a vote on whether to send it to the floor for a full vote from all the members...

Well...not today...

Leftist pro-amnesty liberals have skirted the system by skipping the committee process altogether!

SCHIP was forced to the floor of the House today for debate and a vote!!! IT PASSED: 289-139!!!

As you may recall, in last year's session SCHIP was floated by members of Congress - with a full approval from the Bush Administration!

...that should tell you enough right there...but wait, there's more...

When it was originally conceived, SCHIP was a plan to give federal funds to poor, uninsured children around the country. Sounds harmless and kind, right? Wrong! It was merely the proverbial camel's nose under the tent for nationalized health care.

Remember the phrase, "It's for the children"? Well, you get the idea.

As if the original SCHIP proposal weren't bad enough, the "new and improved" version is downright scandalous!!!

Voted on the House Floor today was the newer version of SCHIP which--again did NOT get ANY committee hearing at all, NONE, ZIP, ZILCH. Here's a quick summary of the changes in the bill, which were only made available to Republicans early this morning:

"The bill would dilute the focus on America’s poorest of children by opening SCHIP to the children of illegal aliens as the bill eliminates the identity-verification requirements in the current law and severely limits what states can do to attain proof of citizenship. The bill also removes the five-year waiting period legal residents are currently required to wait before enrolling in Medicaid or SCHIP. The bill does not include a cap on income for eligibility which would permit families making more than $80,000 eligible for coverage, whether American citizens or not."

WE MUST STOP THIS BILL NOW!!! HELP US SEND IN CARMEN MERCER AND CHRIS SIMCOX TO CONGRESS!!!


Now, I'm sure I don't have to spell it all out for you here...because it's obvious what leftists Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are doing!

They are stacking the decks with ultra-liberal legislation - which they hope to pass with their new majorities in Congress - and wait until after the inauguration to send them to President Obama to sign!!!

As if a trillion-dollar "economic stimulus" package [read: give-away package] both by Bush and Obama weren't bad enough...now the leftists in Congress are proposing to give away free health care to ALL CHILDREN...rich or poor, legal or illegal!

And of course, health care isn't "provided" by Congress...No, it's "paid for" by Congress...

...and how do you suppose Congress will pay for that free health care?

That's right! MORE TAXES!!!

Friends, this is beyond unconstitutional; it's beyond illegal; and it's beyond immoral...IT'S SOCIALIST! We warned that this was going to happen, and now here's the evidence right before our eyes.

We did our best to prepare you for what was coming down the pike, and we hope you heeded our warning. But, now, as we said then, we must stand up and fight this tyranny...just as the Minutemen of the Revolution did.

Obama, Pelosi, and Reid are ready to sell our republic down the river...

...And if we don't stand together now and fight, we'll lose our country and have nothing left to pass down to our posterity!

Here's what happens next: the House will send the passed SCHIP bill over to the Senate for conference. And we all know how much the Senate loves amnesty and free giveaways to illegal aliens.

When they do, we'll stage our fight there. We've fought amnesty on that battleground before, and we'll do it again. BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP!

We're sending in MMPAC Honorary Chairman Chris Simcox AND Vice-Chairwoman Carmen Mercer to personally fight the battle. Carmen Mercer is already there...and Chris is soon to follow. Of course, this fight will come at a great expense to Minuteman PAC, but we must fight it nonetheless!

Who is MMPAC, Chris is MCDC, and the web site is www.mimutemanhq.com. We should have this clarified.

The link which was at the bottom of the post when I wrote the reply. It since has been removed. The link was to the "online Donation Page" of the Minutemen, but beyond that I did not read that carefully.

Just spoke with Lucy Garza this may very well be right. It just hasn't been sent to all members, which someone needs to correct.

Heres the link

MMPAC is where Chris Simcox is the honorary chairman. It is the PAC that endorses candidates that are against illegal immigration. MCDC is the organization that works the border.
