NC L - NC Community Colleges Board votes in favor of illegal

    Concerned Citizens and Immigration Reformers,

The North Carolina Community College Board just voted in favor of allowing illegal immigrants to attend our state Community Colleges per the vote yesterday of their policy panel. We have 11% unemployment in North Carolina but our state Community College Board thinks the best way to help unemployed citizens get jobs is to also train/educate illegal immigrants. Every job illegals then take will leave one for one an American still unemployed. THIS IS AN OUTRAGE !

There was one dissenting vote, but I am suspect and cynical of it. Lt Gov Dalton voted against the motion, BUT he refused to commit to oppose the above up until today. I can only suppose he wanted to make sure it passed, but then vote NO for political cover. Gov Beverly Perdue had said last year and this year that she was opposed to it, so why did Lt Gov Dalton [a Community College Board member] not have the courage to speak out against allowing illegal immigrants to attend our Community Colleges?

The only other elected official on the Board, State Treasurer Janet Cowell, voted for the allowing illegals to attend our state Community Colleges. And this person is supposed to be our "state treasurer". The State Treasurer manages the pension fund for state employees among other duties such as "Helping state and local government units maintain fiscal health by assisting with financial management". Don't you really feel safe about our state finances when someone votes to provide privileges to people who have broken the law to come to America, and who will now attend our Community Colleges at will and be better trained with your tax dollars to take an American's job?

It appears it will take about six to nine months or longer for the NC Community College system to roll out this new dimwitted policy. They can't even do dumb stuff fast, so we have a window of time to beat this back. We will press to pass state legislation at the next NC General Assembly session in January to deny illegal immigrants access to our state Community Colleges and all of the 16 campuses of the UNC [state university] system. More to follow.

    Regards,

    Ron Woodard

I hope this legislation "speeds up" and gets voted on and PASSED!!! ILLEGALS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED ANY BENEFITS, ESPECIALLY COLLEGES WHEN AMERICANS CANNOT AFFORD IT!!!!!!

Who is running for State election or reelection in November?

And we need to start finding out what is in the works in January for the legislators to vote on in concern of this issue of illegal aliens on the college campuses.

Should we get a State Petition started?
