    Numbersusa Update

PLEASE PHONE TODAY BEFORE 1st AMNESTY VOTES TOMORROW

DEAR CITIZENS OF West Virginia, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Washington D.C.,

Below are the phone calls we most need you to make today.

Your region holds some major key votes in whether we beat this amnesty tomorrow. The rest of the nation is depending on you to handle the Members on the lists below -- both House and Senate.

All of you are absolutely HAMMERING congressional offices with your FAXES the moment I sent out my alert last night. Way to go. As usual, NumbersUSA faxes into Congress far out-number all faxes from all other sources on all other issues! NumbersUSA Faxers rock!

    On your phone calls:

    (a) Start with Members from your own state.
    (b) Then, if you have time, help us with the neighboring states with smaller populations.
    (c) If you are totally gung ho, call the ones from larger neighboring states, too.

The plan of congressional leaders is to pass the DREAM Act amnesty late Wednesday morning in the House of Representatives and then pass cloture to start debate in the Senate Wednesday evening.

    CALL UNCOMMITTED 2012 SENATE DEMS

Phone Senate Democrats who are up for RE-ELECTION IN 2012 and who remain publicly UNCOMMITTED as to how they will vote on DREAM.

Be polite, because these folks are being brutalized by the pro-amnesty student actvists. They will appreciate a calm phone call.

    Virginia

    Webb, James

    West Virginia

    Manchin, Joe
    DC: (202) 224-3954
    Local: (304) 264-4626

When you call, tell them one or two of these:
you appreciate their general opposition to amnesty in the past but you can't figure out why they haven't announced their opposition this time around.

if they vote YES on "cloture" for the DREAM amnesty, that vote will be an amnesty albatross around their necks during the 2012 elections

dozens of pro-amnesty Democratic seats in Congress turned Republican in the November elections. Voting YES on this amnesty will help put their Senate seat in jeopardy.

even if there are young illegal aliens who deserve a chance at an amnesty, the DREAM Act is not the bill -- it has zero enforcement to keep millions of other foreign parents from illegally bringing their children to put them in the same situation that DREAM is supposed to fix.

    PHONE 2012 SENATE DEMOCRATS
WHO SAY THEY WILL VOTE ***YES*** ON AMNESTY

Yes, some of these look like hopeless causes. But they just saw five dozen Democratic seats in Congress flipped to GOP in November. They may not feel so secure any more.

Plus, we're stuck with these Senators for at least two more years. They need to feel just how unpopular their pro-amnesty ways are. Our past experience is that we oten can get 10-20% of these kinds of politicians to pleasantly surprise us when the vote actually occurs if we push hard enough.

    Pennsylvania

    Casey, Robert
    DC: (202) 224-6324
    Local: (215) 405-9660

    When you call, tell them:
if they vote YES on "cloture" for the DREAM amnesty, that vote will be an amnesty albatross around their necks during the 2012 elections

dozens of pro-amnesty Democratic seats turned Republican in the November elections. Voting YES on this amnesty will help put their Senate seat in jeopardy.

the DREAM Act is an amnesty without a single enforcement element that will reduce illegal workers coming to take jobs in the future.

a YES on DREAM is a vote to kill the dreams of millions of young unemployed Americans who can't find a job

even if there are young illegal aliens who deserve a chance at an amnesty, the DREAM Act is not the bill -- it has zero enforcement to keep millions of other foreign parents from illegally bringing their children to put them in the same situation that DREAM is supposed to fix.

THE STRATEGY FOR WINNING IN THE HOUSE (we are losing at the moment)

Speaker Pelosi knows that she doesn't have commitments for the 218 votes she needs to pass the amnesty. But we don't have commitments for 218 NO votes, either.

Pelosi feels she can pull this one out.

For us to stop her, we are going to have to persuade at least 40 of the Democrats who fall in the categories below (nationwide, so you aren't seeing all the possibilities) to vote NO.

Your phone calls very well may tip the balance.

Phone RE-ELECTED HOUSE Democrats who have leaned in our direction in the past

These Democratic Representatives of Immigration-Reduction Grades of "C" or higher. Most of them faced competitive elections and won. They won in part by being better on immigration than the Nancy Pelosi image of the Party. They hope to run again in 2012.

When you call thank them for supporting American workers rather than illegal workers in the past and tell them how important it is for their District, for the American people and for their future political prospects that they vote against DREAM amnesty on Wednesday.

Phone RETIRING HOUSE Democrats Who Have Usually Leaned in Our Direction

It is among these Democrats that Speaker Pelosi most hopes to gain advantage to pass the DREAM Act. Most of these would have voted NO on the amnesty before the election. Now that they have been defeated or are retiring and don't have to keep up appearances for the impending election, Pelosi believes she can persuade a lot of them to vote against constituent wishes..

They have Immigration-Reduction Grades of "C" or better. Thank them for their opposition to illegal immigration in the past and talk about the need to protect their legacy as they leave Congress by finally putting an end to talk about rewarding illegal immigration with an amnesty which would entice millions more illegal aliens to come.

Phone PRO-AMNESTY HOUSE DEMOCRATS Who Say They Will Vote YES on Amnesty But Who NARROWLY WON THEIR RE-ELECTION

Most of these are hard-liner open-borders types who favor illegal workers over unemployed Americans.

They have Immigration-REduction Grades of "D" and "F." If you have time, it would be helpful for the next Congress for you to hit them pretty hard and angry about their support for illegal immigration.

They won re-election with less than 53% of the vote. They have to be concerned about how they will do in 2012. Remind them that an Amnesty vote Wednesday will provide major ammunition for their opponents in 2012.

    From William:

    America,

This is your last chance to weigh in against the Dream Act Amnesty which the US Senate plans to vote for Cloture on around 4:30pm Eastern today! (3 hours from time of this email).

The US House plans to vote on Amnesty around 7:30pm EST!

ALIPAC activists across America are lighting up the DC switchboards, while tracking who is voting for or against Cloture on the Dream Amnesty in the Senate. ALIPAC's President, William Gheen, is doing back to back talk radio shows rallying more Americans to our efforts to defend America.

Millions of you are on the verge of being replaced and displaced in your jobs, classrooms, and voting enclosures.

Speak out now while minutes remain.

STEP 1: Your efforts have helped to move key votes our way! Please call the Senators below listed as "Noting No on Dream Amnesty Cloture" and say "I want to thank Senator ______ for standing with Americans, instead of foreign nationals. Tell Senator ____ I said thank you for agreeing to vote NO ON DREAM AMNESTY CLOTURE. Please ask Senator ____ to encourage other Senators to vote NO ON DREAM AMNESTY CLOTURE like he/she is."

STEP 2: Please call, then write the Senate offices listed below as VOTING YES or MAY VOTE YES ON DREAM AMNESTY CLOTURE.

Call and say "Please ask Senator ______ no to sellout America! Ask him/her to vote NO ON DREAM AMNESTY CLOTURE. Dream Amnesty is inappropriate for the lame duck session and would displace and replace millions of innocent American students, workers, and voters!"

Step 3: After you have called and written ALIPAC's senate targets below, please rally more Americans (friends, neighbors) to join you and then proceed to call and write our targets in the Congress found at this link.
    http://www.alipac.us/ftopict-219949.html

PLEASE KEEP CALLING AND WRITING UNTIL YOU RECEIVE FURTHER WORD FROM US.

THE DEMOCRATS ONLY NEED A FEW MORE VOTES TO PASS AMNESTY.

    Give this everything you have!

VOTING EXPECTED TO START AROUND 4:30

We are winning in Senate & have a chance in House. But your phone calls are still needed to counteract giant barrage of pro-amnesty phoning.

    1. Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) has just announced she will vote NO!

The pro-amnesty forces' battle plan for being able to get to 60 votes to pass the DREAM Act amnesty always depended on Snowe voting YES.

Snowe said: "Millions of illegal immigrants could attempt to become legal residents as a result of this proposal, according to some estimates, and it is incumbent upon the Senate to ensure our policies never again lead to a situation where we are confronted with upwards of 12 million illegal immigrants residing within our borders."

I suggest you quote Snowe to some of the offices you continue to call today.

    2. Pro-amnesty activists are reporting they are 10 votes short in the HOUSE (but we are more than many votes short, ourselves).

The good news is that your phoning and faxing these last months (and especially this week) have guaranteed that almost all Republicans in the House will vote NO and that many Democrats will vote NO, while you are also keeping many, many Democrats still uncommitted either way.

The pro-amnesty people are claiming they have 208 of the 218 needed to pass.

Go to the alert I re-sent this morning that has all your targets in your region. Call the Democrats in those lists.

    Capitol Switchboard is: 202-224-3121

    3. Join our live webcast which we will begin at 3:30 this afternoon.

We will send out another alert when we know when something is really happening. We will get going in earnest once the DREAM amnesty comes to the floor of the Senate, perhaps as early as 4:15 this afternoon.

The debate will be quite short and the vote should immediately follow.

The vote will be on cloture, whether to allow the real debate on the bill to begin.

If we keep the amnesty side from getting 60 votes, we will have killed the DREAM amnesty.

The live streaming of our commentary and explanations from our conference room will be at:

    www.NumbersUSA.tv

We'll be doing what we always do when immigration comes to the floor for a vote -- anxiously gathering to watch how Congress responds to our days, weeks and months of mobilizing the grassroots. And discussing and arguing over what each detail means.

Nothing fancy or formal. Just turning the cameras on our staff session. But after having you in our conference room for 10 hours on Election Night, we thought you might like to join us again for this occasion.

I may not be in the room at the beginning because I have to run over to CNN and do an interview on the Cavuto show. I'll get back to our conference room and the webcast as fast as I can.

umbersUSA - relies upon individuals like you to reach its goal of an environmentally sustainable and economically just America.

    Friends of ALIPAC,

With the breaking news on our homepage (alipac.us) reported from NumbersUSA that Maine Senator Olympia Snowe will vote No ON Dream Amnesty Cloture, Sen Reid is retreating!

He has now announced that the Senate will vote after the house votes on the bill!

We must now pursue Reid as he runs to his Democratic stronghold in the House!

Please redirect all of your calls onto our house targets. Please implement new messages now being added at the top of our list!

Everyone, let's go after the HOUSE. They vote at 6:30pm (estimated) Eastern and if we hit them with enough calls, to the right offices, with the right messages we may be able to stop this Amnesty push!

Yes, I am ready to help ALIPAC challenge Amnesty with calls to the HOUSE at this link....

    To the HOUSE!
